The keyart for Slide Viking: Treasure's Path on Xbox and PC
Slide Viking: Treasure’s Path is out now on Xbox and PC

Not every Viking adventure is about raiding villages or clashing swords. Sometimes the real treasure hunt requires a bit more brainpower. Slide Viking: Treasure’s Path brings a puzzle-driven journey to Xbox, challenging players to guide a fearless Norse explorer through clever sliding challenges in search of hidden riches.

It’s available now for £4.19 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC, with three versions hitting the store.

Developed and published by Afil Games (yep, them again!), Slide Viking: Treasure’s Path follows in the footsteps of the original Slide Viking, bringing more bite-sized logic puzzles wrapped in a charming pixel-art world.

A Viking Puzzle Quest

Slide Viking: Treasure’s Path places players in a cosy Viking village packed with puzzle boards that test both logic and patience.

Your task is simple in theory: push axes across the board so that they land on treasure chests, marking them before you claim the riches hidden beneath. But as with most good puzzles, the challenge quickly escalates.

The Viking moves tile by tile across each board, meaning every move must be carefully planned. One wrong slide could leave an axe stuck against a wall – or worse, trap you in a dead end.

Across 30 handcrafted levels, the puzzles steadily grow more complex. Early stages act as gentle introductions, letting players get comfortable with the mechanics, while later puzzles demand careful thinking and experimentation.

Continuing The Slide Viking Journey

Fans of the original Slide Viking will likely feel right at home here.

When we reviewed the first game, we awarded it a 4/5 score, noting that while the sliding puzzle formula wasn’t revolutionary, it delivered a surprisingly enjoyable experience.

It’s the most fun I’ve had with a sliding puzzle game… Considering Slide Viking is £4.19, that’s a commendable achievement.

Treasure’s Path looks to continue that formula with a fresh set of puzzles, more charming environments and another batch of satisfying logic challenges.

Time To Claim The Treasure

Slide Viking: Treasure’s Path is available now for £4.19 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC. Decide upon the Series X|S Optimised edition, that which works on Xbox One, or the version compatible with PC.

With 30 logic-based challenges and a charming Viking theme wrapped around its sliding puzzle mechanics, it offers a compact but thoughtful adventure for players looking to test their problem-solving skills.

Just remember – sometimes the smartest Viking wins the treasure.
