As a series, The Walking Dead from Telltale has sold millions of copies, nabbed hundreds of Game of the Year awards, and even scooped a couple of BAFTAs in the process. With the recent conclusion of Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season pushed through by the team at Skybound Games, the adventures based on Robert Kirkman’s comic book franchise has now met an end. Or so we thought, because the recently announced The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series will be hitting stores come September 10th 2019, just now it’ll be bringing with it numerous bonus features and a Graphic Black visual enhancement.
Due to hit Xbox One, PS4 (both digitally and physically) and PC via the Epic Games Store on September 10th, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series will bundle together all four seasons of the acclaimed series, for both veterans of the tale and newbies alike to enjoy.
The new boxed edition for consoles is available to pre-order right now, and it’ll include all four seasons, along with the Michonne and 400 Days DLC. That means there will be more than 50 hours of gameplay, 23 unique episodes, more than 10 hours of developer commentary and some super cool behind-the-scenes bonuses. These will include concept and character art galleries, a “Return of The Walking Dead” documentary short, faithful recreations of classic menus, and a music player with over 140 musical tracks.
Further still though, and possibly most excitingly, the collection also includes the application across all seasons and content of “graphic black,” an art style that pays homage to The Walking Dead comics and was previously only available for The Final Season.
“Graphic black is a loving tribute to the source material and a powerful art style that makes the game look like a living comic book,” said Kent Mudle, Creative Director for The Walking Dead and the Still Not Bitten team at Skybound Games. “An idea the team formulated and perfected with THE FINAL SEASON, this new visual styling offers longtime fans a way to play the series again in a brand-new light while giving new audiences a smooth visual ride across all seasons.”
Whether you have previously fallen in love with The Walking Dead, or missed out the first time around and wish to give it shot, then The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series will certainly provide the goods.
