The Wolf Among Us 2 – it’s finally coming

It’s been a long wait for fans of Bigby Wolf, but after years of uncertainty, delays and plenty of speculation, The Wolf Among Us 2 is finally back in the spotlight. Better still, Telltale has confirmed that players won’t have to wait until 2027 to revisit Fabletown, with The Wolf Among Us Remastered also arriving later this year.

Announced during Summer Game Fest, Telltale Games and publishing partner PM Studios have officially lifted the lid on both projects, bringing one of gaming’s most beloved narrative adventures back to life across Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.

A Return To Fabletown

For many players, The Wolf Among Us remains one of Telltale’s finest achievements. Inspired by Bill Willingham’s acclaimed Fables comic series, it delivered a gritty detective thriller wrapped in a dark fantasy setting where familiar fairy tale characters struggled to survive in modern-day New York.

We looked back fondly on the original in our retrospective, highlighting how its mature storytelling, memorable cast and noir atmosphere helped it stand apart from virtually every other narrative game of its era.

Now, more than a decade after Bigby’s first case, the story is finally continuing.

Set after the events of the original game, The Wolf Among Us 2 sees tensions rising across Fabletown as old rivalries and new threats begin to destabilise the fragile peace. Snow White is attempting to maintain order while powerful forces move behind the scenes to reshape the city’s criminal underworld.

When a series of brutal crimes threatens to tear everything apart, Bigby Wolf finds himself investigating a conspiracy that stretches far deeper than he initially realises. As suspicion spreads throughout Fabletown, players will once again be faced with difficult choices that help define the kind of sheriff – and the kind of wolf – Bigby ultimately becomes.

The Original Returns First

Before the sequel arrives, players will have the opportunity to revisit where it all began.

The Wolf Among Us Remastered launches during Holiday 2026, bringing the original five-episode adventure to modern platforms with a host of improvements.

Telltale says the goal has been to preserve everything fans loved about the original while modernising the presentation for today’s hardware. Players can expect enhanced visuals, upgraded animation work, improved audio quality, refined environments, updated user interface elements and new accessibility features.

Alongside the main story, the remaster will also include more than an hour of bonus content, featuring behind-the-scenes material, developer insights, cast interviews, deleted scenes and image galleries exploring the creation of the original game.

For newcomers, it offers the perfect opportunity to discover why Bigby’s first investigation became such a fan favourite. For returning players, it’s a chance to revisit one of the standout narrative adventures of the last decade before diving into the sequel.

Telltale And PM Studios Team Up

The announcement also confirms a new partnership between Telltale and PM Studios, with PM Studios supporting publishing, distribution and global marketing efforts for both games.

Telltale CEO Jamie Ottilie spoke about the importance of the franchise, saying: “For more than a decade, The Wolf Among Us has remained incredibly important to our players and to everyone at Telltale. With The Wolf Among Us Remastered, we wanted to preserve the original experience while introducing Bigby and the world of Fabletown to a new audience. At the same time, The Wolf Among Us 2 allows us to continue the story of Fabletown in a way that pushes the series forward while staying true to what fans have loved about these characters and this world from the very beginning.

PM Studios CEO Michael Yum added: “I’ve loved The Wolf Among Us for years, just like so many fans around the world. It remains one of the most beloved narrative games ever created. Working alongside Telltale on both The Wolf Among Us Remastered and The Wolf Among Us 2 has been incredibly special for our team. We’re excited for longtime fans to step back into this neon noir world they’ve waited years to revisit, while welcoming a whole new generation of players to discover Bigby Wolf and Fabletown for the very first time.

After spending years in development limbo, The Wolf Among Us 2 finally feels real again.

With The Wolf Among Us Remastered arriving this holiday season and the sequel scheduled for 2027, fans of narrative adventures have plenty to look forward to. Bigby Wolf’s story isn’t finished yet, and it seems the streets of Fabletown still have plenty of secrets left to uncover.
