Expansive Worlds, the creators of the immersive hunting simulator theHunter: Call of the Wild, is adding a fresh layer of content to the game with the release of three new DLC packs and a free update today.
As we explored in our review of the base game back in 2021, theHunter offers a “slow pace and deliberate way” to experience the thrill of the hunt, with “beautiful vistas” and challenging gameplay that requires precision and strategy.
New Adventures Await
The Salzwiesen Park, German Shorthaired Pointer, and Hunters’ Choice: Bolt-Action Rifle Pack DLCs offer a variety of new experiences for hunters to enjoy:
- Salzwiesen Park: Journey to the scenic salt marshes of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and encounter 15 different animal species, including two new birds – the Gadwall and Ferruginous Duck. This DLC also introduces the Clay Shooting Range for target practice and the GOPI 10G GRAND Shotgun.
- German Shorthaired Pointer: Add a new canine companion to your hunting expeditions with the versatile German Shorthaired Pointer. This DLC also unlocks a new feature in the free update that allows you to customize your hunting dog with skills from other breeds.
- Hunters’ Choice: Bolt-Action Rifle Pack: This DLC, created in partnership with the theHunter community, features three fan-chosen bolt-action rifles: the Vallgarda .375, Johansson .450, and Fors Elite .300. Each rifle is tailored for different hunting scenarios and offers exceptional accuracy.
A Winter Wonderland of Content
The free update accompanying the DLC packs introduces even more exciting features:
- Hunter Challenges: Take on daily and weekly challenges to earn in-game currency and test your hunting skills.
- New Great Ones: Encounter two new Great Ones, the Pheasant and Red Fox, adding to the diversity of the game’s wildlife.
- Photo Challenges: Capture stunning images of the natural world and complete photo challenges for additional rewards.
- Dog Skill Customisation: Combine the skills of different dog breeds to create the ultimate hunting companion.
