More than 120,000 Steam reviews, running a 98% overwhelmingly positive take is nothing to sniff at. But that’s exactly what Vampire Survivors has managed to build after a year in Early Access. Now though the game comes to Xbox – with the power of Game Pass behind it.
The latest title to be added to the Game Pass service is one of great quality – at least if we take those Steam reviews as read. That game is Vampire Survivors, breaking out of the PC underworld to make haste on the Xbox scene, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
Whether you utilise Game Pass to play Vampire Survivors or pay up the ridiculously low asking price of £3.99, you’re sure to be in for a bit of a bloody treat.
Playing out as a timed survival game, mixing in roguelite elements and a ton of minimalism, Vampire Survivors is seen by many as the ‘be the bullet hell’ genre definer. At least that’s the plan of the development team at poncle.
Jump in and you’ll find the chance to play through a gothic horror in which you’re tasked with taking down the creatures of the night. Survival is the main – and only – goal here, but it’s also a gaming experience in which your choices can have a massive effect.
Upgrades are in plentiful supply, as are the sheer number of characters, levels and weapons that you can us. But most exciting for Vampire Survivors will be the chance to take a single lone hero and turn them into an uber-powerful magic-wielding demigod. In fact, as the key game features announce, it’s a game in which YOU’LL be the bullet hell.
- Choose upgrades carefully and survive the night using only your wits!
- Unlock characters, levels, weapons and more as you play!
- Evolve from a lone fighter into a mind-bogglingly overpowered magical demigod!
- BE THE BULLET HELL!
Quote from the Developer -“I started making Vampire Survivors to practise coding and would have not in a million years thought it would become such a hit. I can not thank the community enough for making development this fun!”, said poncle founder Luca Galante. “I’m very excited to see the game on console and for Xbox players to dive in and be the bullet hell!”.
You’ll find Vampire Survivors drawing blood from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Surely taking this in via Game Pass is a no-brainer? You can grab it on Steam and help push those brilliant reviews if you like too.
