When you’ve got a game that is as green and eco-friendly as LumbearJack, it just feels like a perfect fit for the Xbox world. And that’s exactly what the team behind the game are hoping, as they launch it onto Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s on PC and Switch too.
LumbearJack was only confirmed for an Xbox launch a couple of weeks back, but after surprising viewers at the recent Wholesome Direct showcase, this bear lumbers onto Microsoft’s finest boxes.
Priced at £10.99 and available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S – this is fully optimised for the Series X|S consoles by the way – LumbearJack from FinalBoss Games and Armor Games Studios looks to be a bit of a delight.
It has you playing as Jack (yeah, we know, you guessed that) the Bear (yeah, guessed that too, eh!?) as he looks to try and fulfil a simple dream – to help turn his world back to its former glory. You see, Jack’s surroundings have got a little bit messy, all thanks to the dastardly EVIL Inc who are trying to destroy his forest land. With his trusty axe and animal mates in tow, Jack goes about slicing and dicing his way through anything and everything that lays in his path.
He’ll rip apart machines, slap some humans and basically look to rid the world of anything that is human made, instead allowing his colourful world to thrive. It’s an environmentalist’s dream game, especially since those behind it have partnered up with the charity Ecologi to ensure that one tree gets planted for every download of the game which takes place. If you’re looking for a reason to splash the asking price, that there is it. It probably helps that you get a game to play in return.
FinalBoss Games senior developer Manuel Usero says, “We’re so excited to announce our game at Wholesome Direct, we think it’s the perfect event for LumbearJack because it’s so: indie, friendly and best of all, so wholesome!”
We’re looking to review LumbearJack on Xbox very soon, so stay tuned for our full thoughts. For now though you’ll find the game available to download from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, with Smart Delivery in tow.
It’s also on PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch too.
If you’re looking to take a stand on industrialisation and reckon Jack has what it takes, give the trailer a watch and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
Game Description:
Jack is a humble bear with a simple dream: to return nature to its former glory with the help of his trusty axe and his animal friends. Slice and dice through machinery, slap some sense into wasteful humans, and work with wacky woodland critters to thwart the sinister plans of up-and-coming industrial giant Evil Works.
