Game Pass – ins and out for the week

It’s a week of arrivals and departures on Game Pass, no matter whether that be on Xbox or PC, as two new titles join the ever-evolving library, and five others prepare to bid farewell.

Let’s take a closer look at the games making their way in and out of the service this week. It’s that moving and shaking that ensures your Game Pass subscription keeps fresh, continually providing new games to play.

New Arrivals

Ashen (Cloud, Console, and PC) – October 29th

Prepare to embark on a journey through a desolate world shrouded in darkness. Ashen is an action RPG that emphasises cooperative multiplayer, where you’ll forge alliances with other players online to survive against monstrous creatures and explore a hauntingly beautiful world.

With its striking art style and challenging combat, Ashen offers a unique and rewarding experience for those seeking adventure and camaraderie.

Dead Island 2 (PC) – October 31st

Just in time for Halloween, the zombie-slaying mayhem of Dead Island 2 shambles onto PC Game Pass – and that’s because it’s already on the Xbox side of things.

Dive into a vibrant and gory open world set in a zombie-infested Los Angeles. With its over-the-top combat, darkly comedic tone, and a diverse cast of characters, Dead Island 2 delivers a thrilling and visceral experience for those who enjoy a good dose of undead carnage.

Departing Soon – All Leave October 31st

Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery (Cloud, Console, and PC)

Sadly, it’s time to say “Ribbit” and farewell to the charming world of Frog Detective.

This delightful trilogy of detective games has captivated players with its quirky humour, adorable characters, and surprisingly engaging mysteries.

If you haven’t already, be sure to hop into the shoes of the Frog Detective and solve some cases before it leaps away from Game Pass.

Headbangers (Cloud, Console, and PC)

This rhythm-based headbanging extravaganza is leaving the Game Pass stage.

Headbangers offered a unique blend of rhythm action and competitive multiplayer, where players would headbang to the beat to defeat their opponents. If you enjoyed rocking out and testing your rhythmic skills, be sure to give it a final headbang before it departs.

Inkulinati (Cloud, Console, and PC)

The medieval manuscript mayhem of Inkulinati is closing its pages on Game Pass.

This unique strategy game combined turn-based combat with a quirky art style inspired by medieval marginalia. If you enjoyed commanding bizarre creatures and engaging in strategic battles, be sure to experience the ink-redible world of Inkulinati before it fades away.

Lonely Mountains Downhill (Cloud, Console, and PC)

The exhilarating downhill biking adventure of Lonely Mountains Downhill is reaching the end of its Game Pass trail.

One of our most favourite of all Xbox games, what with its procedurally generated tracks, challenging obstacles, and stylish visuals, Lonely Mountains Downhill offered a thrilling experience for those seeking an adrenaline rush.

Take one last ride down the mountain before it departs. Or just buy it with cold hard cash. It’s easily good enough to warrant a purchase.

Mineko’s Night Market (Cloud, Console, and PC)

The charming world of Mineko’s Night Market is closing its Game Pass stalls.

A narrative adventure, this one invited players to explore a Japanese-inspired island, craft unique items, and participate in a variety of activities, including cat racing and mask making.

If you enjoyed the game’s relaxing atmosphere and heartwarming story, be sure to visit the Night Market one last time.

Don’t Miss Out!

Be sure to check out these departing titles before they leave Game Pass, and get ready to welcome Ashen and Dead Island 2 to the service. With a constantly rotating library of games, there’s always something new and exciting to discover on Game Pass.

But there are more changes coming to Game Pass soon too. Whilst this week is a big one for the service, the week commencing November 4th introduces a couple of newbies to PC Game Pass – StarCraft: Remastered and StarCraft II: Campaign Collection both join on November 5th.

We’re expecting more for the Xbox side of things too. We’ll bring you that as Xbox HQ confirms.

For now, let us know what you think of Game Pass as a whole. The comments are below.
