Three free Xbox games arrive for download!

What to play some new Xbox games but don’t want to pay for them? You’re in luck as three more free games have been confirmed for download. 

Coming about via the Xbox Games With Gold scheme are three more free Xbox games, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S forevermore. The catch? You’ll need to download them in March, before they go up in price again. 

The Xbox Games With Gold scheme has been around for years, but whilst it used to be a sturdy staple of the scene, the power and precense of Game Pass has seen the Games With Gold offerings fall by the wayside. But still, free games shouldn’t be ignored and through March 2023, three new titles will be stripped of their price tags. 

Those games are Trüberbrook and Sudden Strike 4 – Complete Collection which are both available to download for free between March 1st to 31st, and then Lamentum, rocking and rolling without a price tag from March 16tth to April 15th. 

You’ll need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to hand in order to download the three games for free, but as long as you are sorted in that regard, you are good to go. 

But what are you getting? Well, Trüberbrook released back in 2019, gathering up a decent 4/5 score in review from us. We spoke of the stunning visual style and brilliant storytelling, let down only by a bit of confusion. Our review ending with ‘If you’re looking for something slightly different in tone, with a great story, some slow paced thoughtful gameplay and visuals that look like a piece of art then take a trip to Trüberbrook. Just be aware that you might never want to leave.’.

Sudden Strike 4 is also free, and that also released in 2019. In fact, it also got a 4/5 in review from us. We liked the absolute ton of missions and vehicles that were available, as well as the good looking visuals. However, this was – and still is – a game that is fairly tricky to play with a controller but we do think that ‘Sudden Strike 4: Complete Collection on Xbox One remains the premier Real Time Strategy game available for this platform.’. Although Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is now here!

Finally, come mid-March you’ll discover Lamentum going free. And guess what? Yeah, we gave that a 4/5 in review too. You’ll get access to a well crafted story, a fairly lengthy campaign and some atmospheric visuals. What more do you want for free?
