We already know that the likes of Dragon Ball Z, Naruto and One Piece will be well represented in the upcoming 3vs3 fighter JUMP FORCE, but today, three characters from the classic Bleach manga series have been revealed.
Bleach first arrived on the scene in 2001 as part of the Japanese Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, telling the long-running story of the hot-headed teenager Ichigo Kurosaki. After inheriting the powers of a Shinigami (soul reaper), Ichigo takes on the role of travelling to ghostly realms in order to protect humans from evil spirits.
Naturally, high school student Ichigo Kurosaki is one of the three playable characters from the Bleach universe in JUMP FORCE, with Rukia Kuchiki and Sōsuke Aizen also joining him. Rukia posses a beautiful ice-type sword and is another soul reaper; one that comes from a noble family who specialises in Kido (the magic aspect of the soul reapers). The final character, Sōsuke, is a mysterious man who acts as the captain of the Gotei 13 and is certainly one of the most skilled members of the Soul Society.
But that’s not all that’s been announced though, as BANDAI NAMCO have also officially unveiled Hong Kong as one of the many real-world locations used for a stage in JUMP FORCE. The exciting action will see the characters battling at street-level, illuminated by the dazzling lights and neon lanterns of the rainy city, with Blackbeard’s crashed ship looming over them.
There’s currently no specific release date for when JUMP FORCE will bring these titans of Japanese pop culture to life in 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, but what do you feel about how the roster is shaping up so far? Let us know in the comments or on social media!
