Three new Xbox Wireless Controllers announced alongside smaller Xbox Wireless Adapter for Win10

-

We love new controllers. No matter whether they are just re-skinned versions of the classics, Elite editions or completely unique creations, you’ll never see us complaining about having another option for the pad in our hands. Today, three new Xbox Wireless Controllers have been announced – and my god are they good looking.

Announced alongside the less exciting new (and smaller) Xbox Wireless Adapter for Win10 are three brand new Xbox One controllers. With new designs created to please even the most hardcore of collectors, if you’re on the lookout for a new pad, then these should be right at the top of your list.

Full details direct from the horse’s mouth (that’ll be MajorNelson to you and I), can be found below, but whether you are tempted by the new Patrol Tech Special Edition, the lovely looking Volcano Shadow Special Edition or that gorgeous Green/Grey combo, you can expect to find all the usual controller standards in place – yep, that includes textured or rubberized grip, improved wireless range and Bluetooth technology.

Green/Grey

The Xbox Wireless Controller – Green/Grey features a sleek, two-tone grey design with eye-catching green accents at the base of the thumbsticks. The controller is available for pre order for $64.99 USD at select retailers worldwide including microsoftstore.com and will start shipping August 3.

Volcano Shadow Special Edition

The Xbox Wireless Controller – Volcano Shadow Special Edition is the newest of the Shadow series we introduced last year. This controller features a matte black top case and sides that fade to a fiery red metallic finish. The buttons, triggers and D-pad have a glossy black finish with red highlights on the ABXY and menu buttons. The controller is available for pre order for $69.99 USD at select retailers worldwide including microsoftstore.com and will start shipping August 3.

Patrol Tech Special Edition

The Xbox Wireless Controller – Patrol Tech Special Edition is the second controller in our Tech series and is inspired by military technology and performance patterns found in airborne navy patrol units. Premium finishes like a laser etched texture, silver accents and insignia are on the front of the controller. The back of the controller features our fan-favorite rubberized diamond grip for added control and comfort. This new controller is available for pre order for $69.99 USD at select retailers worldwide including micrsoftstore.com and will start shipping September 5. You can also get it bundled with the Cable for Windows for $69.99 at select retailers worldwide including microsoftstore.com starting October 17.

For PC gamers meanwhile, the new Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 is half the size of the previous design, taking up less space in and around those precious USB ports. You can get the adapter on its own or bundled with a black Xbox Wireless Controller.

Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10

The new and improved Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 enhances your controller connection when gaming on Windows 10 PCs and tablets. It’s 66 percent smaller than the original Xbox Wireless Adapter for a smaller form factor and to fit better next to other USB devices you may have plugged in nearby. The Adapter offers wireless stereo sound support and the ability to connect up to eight controllers at once. The new Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 will be available in select markets for $24.99 USD starting in August. You can also choose to get the adapter bundled with the Xbox Wireless Controller for $79.99 USD.

So, which of the new controllers will you be after? Let us know in the comments below.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
