The party scene may have been a little quieter than normal over recent months, but that’s not stopping the Microids team from looking to throw the best damn party you have ever seen when they release The Sisters: Party of the Year on to Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Set to launch on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC come June 16th 2021, with full backwards compatibility allowing it to be played on Xbox Series X|S and PS5, The Sisters: Party of the Year sees you joining Wendy and Marine as they invite you to a massive party; one of a lifetime in fact.

Inspired by the characters of the famous comic book created by William & Christophe Cazenove, and in development by Balio Studio, this adventure/party game will invite players on a journey into the most colourful universe, one that is sprinkled with fun filled mini games that are perfect for family and friends in head to head competitions.

It revolves around Wendy, the grumpy teenager, who wants to throw a memorable end-of-the-year house party but before she can ask her parents for their approval, her impich little sister steals her idea and runs with it. There is however a rather big problem – their parents will only allow one party to happes and in order to decide who’s going to organize the fiesta, the sisters will throw themselves into a series of crazy challenges.

Whilst an adventure mode will play host to the majority of the action (expect 24 challenges, 35 quests and the chance to hunt down some collectible), with a vast open world filled with activities catering to single players, the game will also offer up a multiplayer mode where up to four contestants can join the fray after choosing their favourite character out of 16 from the comic book. This will see challenges, tournaments, All or Nothing games and some Around the World scenarios to play out. It should well play out as a decent little party game.

“The Sisters is such a magical series. A rare success story in a publisher’s career. It all started 12 years ago when William decided to share on his blog the daily life of his own daughters with their arguments, their fits of laughter and genuine affection for each other. A decade later, with more than 5 million albums sold, 30 novels, a cartoon series, a dedicated magazine and a movie in the works, the success is undeniable! It seems that nothing can stop these cheecky sisters! Seeing them coming to life through various mediums in such a faithful way to the original series is delightful. With this new video game I’m pretty sure the Sisters will have a blast!” declares Olivier Sulpice, Bamboo Édition director and founder.

The Sisters: Party of the year will be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC come June 16th 2021. We’ll remind you when that date rolls round.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
