To Farm Lands Sowing Fields Keyart as the game launches on Xbox and PC
To Farm Lands Sowing Fields – out now!

Some games are built for long sessions and deep investment. Others? They’re the kind you dip into with a cup of tea, play a few levels, and come away feeling just that little bit more relaxed. To Farm Lands: Sowing Fields comfortably sits in that second category.

Now available across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC (with an optimised Series X|S version), this latest release from Afil Games keeps things simple, cosy and quietly satisfying – a gentle puzzle experience that knows exactly what it wants to be.

A Puzzle Game That Takes Its Time

To Farm Lands: Sowing Fields isn’t interested in rushing you. There are no timers ticking away in the background, no penalties for getting things wrong, and no pressure to perform.

Instead, it presents you with grids to fill using a variety of animal-shaped pieces. Rotate them, place them, adjust your approach and slowly work towards the perfect fit. It’s the kind of gameplay loop that feels instantly familiar, but still satisfying as each board clicks into place.

There’s a calm confidence to it all, as if the game knows you’ll figure things out eventually.

Small Challenges, Gentle Rewards

Across 30 levels and three distinct biomes, the game introduces just enough variety to keep things engaging without ever overwhelming you.

Each new stage asks you to think slightly differently, whether that’s working around awkward shapes or planning ahead to avoid boxing yourself in. It’s never overly complex, but it does just enough to keep your brain ticking over.

And when everything slots neatly into place, there’s a quiet sense of reward that makes it easy to move straight on to the next puzzle.

Familiar Territory For Afil Games

If you’ve played the original To Farm Lands, you’ll already know the kind of experience this follow-up is aiming for.

In our 3/5 review of that first game, we noted: “Think of To Farm Lands as a bit of frivolous, cozy gameplay that you can take in without too much worry.

Easy To Pick Up, Hard To Resist

To Farm Lands: Sowing Fields does exactly what it sets out to do. It delivers a relaxing puzzle experience wrapped in soft visuals and simple mechanics, giving players something easygoing to unwind with.

It may not stick around in your library forever, but for a few quiet hours, it’s more than happy to keep you company. Find it on the Xbox Store, fully optimised for Xbox Series X|S, or in an edition that is playable on Xbox One. There’s a Windows PC version too.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
