Tony Hawk’s goes next-gen with Xbox Series X|S and PS5 optimisation

When Activision brought Tony Hawk’s back from the dead in 2020 with reworked, rebooted versions of the classic Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2, skate fans were in for a treat with a game that provided everything they could ever have wanted in a skating title. But like many, Activision haven’t sat on their laurels, and today we see Tony hit the next-gen with fully optimised skating action on Xbox Series X|S and PS5.

Next-generation Tony Hawk is a thing of sheer beauty. Taking the rebooted versions as a base, we now find that Pro Skater 1 and 2 come with super crisp 120fps at 1080p, or 4K goodness at 60fps. But that’s not all and high-fidelity atmospherics are also in place allowing for sharper dynamic shadows, tighter reflections and lens flare and pretty much the best damn visuals you could hope to see.

Getting access to all these goodies couldn’t be easier either. Present and correct right now on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 is the Cross-Gen Deluxe Bundle. This will allow you to play on your system of choice, with Xbox players able to take in the action on Xbox One, or with full optimisation for Xbox Series X|S. it comes with a £49.99 price tag, but honestly, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 are so good, they could easily demand a higher asking price than that.

This Deluxe Edition also adds in The Ripper skater from Powell-Peralta, and then unique outfits for Tony Hawk, Steve Cabellero and Rodney Mullen, alongside retro kit for your Create-A-Skater mode.

Whether you were a fan back in the day, or only really got into Tony Hawk’s back in 2020 with the relaunch matters little – now that full next-gen goodies are in place there is no reason to not jump back in again. We’ll be doing that and will have a full review of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 on Xbox Series X|S coming your way very soon.

Bundle Description:

The Cross-Gen Deluxe Bundle includes: – Cross-Gen Deluxe Bundle of Tony Hawk’sâ„¢ Pro Skaterâ„¢ 1 + 2 — Includes Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S version of the game – Digital Deluxe Edition Content

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.

The game is broken, can’t play the series x version online, it locks up every time you get to the menu. If you unplug the network connection it works. The reviews stating this on the xbox store were deleted for some reason. Xbox support said to wait 12 hours and see if Activision puts out a patch. Pretty crappy to ship a game that doesn’t work.
