tony hawks pro skater xbox one

Activision may be known for the Call of Duty series, but in recent years, the publisher is bringing back old beloved franchises. Among them are the resurrected Crash Bandicoot and Spyro Reignited trilogies. And likewise, developed by Vicarious Visions, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is a remake of the first two Pro Skater games by Neversoft. Starting from today, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 compilation is available for purchase on your Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or PC.

This compilation goes back to the fundamentals of skateboarding games with an updated visual flair. Choosing among the available pro skaters, you’ll ride, grind and slide to maintain combos and accumulate high scores. It features a good number of recognizable skateboarders to select from. Spearheaded by Tony Hawk himself, Pro Skater 1 + 2 features legendary skaters of multiple eras, including Rodney Mullen, Elissa Steamer, Nyjah Huston, Aori Nishimura and more.

Music is pivotal to the Pro Skater experience. And with that in mind, developers have made sure to include a vast selection of songs for returning players and new fans alike. In addition to the original soundtrack and songs from bands like Bad Religion, Papa Roach and Rage Against the Machine, Pro Skater 1 + 2 features an all-new soundtrack. New songs are performed by bands like Billy Talent, Chick Norris (that’s Chick, not Chuck) and Machine Gun Kelly.

If you can dream it, you can skate it. Pro Skater 1 + 2 brings back beloved modes and features, such as the ability to create your own park or skater. Build a skate park from scratch by utilizing various ramps and railings. Perform insane tricks on your own turf, unlock slots for new special moves and even custom characters like Officer Dick. And finally, partake in a couch co-op session like it’s 1999 again, or test your skills against other players online.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is available for download on the Xbox Store at £39.99. For £10 more, at £49.99, you can also get the Digital Deluxe Edition which includes an extra character, outfits and more. Should you wish to recreate some of the tricks yourself, the Game Exclusive physical Collector’s Edition is the way to go. In addition to the Digital Deluxe goodies, it includes a Limited Edition skateboard deck from Birdhouse with Tony Hawk’s signature.

And if you need more reason to get involved, there’s also The United Pack DLC priced at £4.30 too. This includes a set of apparel, skate decks and accessories to use with your own created character, with 100% of the net proceeds going to non-profit charity that place veterans in the US and UK into high quality civilian jobs.

That launch trailer down below looks sick. But to find out if Pro Skater 1 + 2 plays as well as it looks, you gotta read our upcoming review.
