In real life, dungeons are pretty gruesome, tightly cramped and tedious places. They were built in the medieval castles as prisons or torture chambers for common prisoners or political enemies. In the gaming world though, they have been the staple diet for the RPG adventure game since the dawn of gaming back in the early ’80s. Torchlight II on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch carries on this tradition of dungeon crawling and exploring with a sequel to the first game, Torchlight. Are you strong enough to brave the depths?
Available to download right now on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, Torchlight II starts with the destruction of the town of Torchlight and your journey to seek vengeance on the evil alchemist who is responsible for the evil actions. You can choose between four classes, all with different skills and combat abilities, as you decide to play alone or with a bunch of friends online.
For the price tag of £16.74, Torchlight II features a whole host of loot to be gathered up, randomly generated dungeons to explore and conquer, as well as a pretty meaty campaign to work through. There are new monsters, new weapons, and new armour. Oh, and there are some pretty weather effects as well, The developers have also redesigned the UI from the first game for a more fluid experience throughout. So gather some mates, put on your plus 2 trainers and get out there for some hardcore adventuring.
Torchlight II is available right now on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch and the usual digital stores will sort you out with a download.
