Toroa Skycall – now on Xbox

There are plenty of games that send players into the sky, like the entire Aery series, but Toroa: Skycall is taking a rather lovely peaceful route.

Out now on Xbox Series X|S, this oceanic adventure follows a young albatross on a journey across shifting seas, distant clouds and dream-like environments inspired by the Māori world.

Priced at £11.74, Toroa: Skycall comes from developer and publisher Atawhai Interactive. It is a game about flight, family and the natural world, with players guiding Toroa across an ever-changing ocean in the hope of reuniting them with their family on land.

A Journey Across Sea And Sky

Toroa: Skycall places players in control of Toroa, a young albatross travelling through a seascape that changes as the journey unfolds. The goal is simple enough – find a way back to family – but the route is filled with encounters, new places and plenty of room to take in the surroundings.

The game’s world is shaped by Māori culture and mythology, with Tāwhirimātea, the Atua of weather, guiding Toroa through the winds. That connection gives the adventure its own identity, moving between open ocean spaces, lush environments and cloud-filled dream sequences.

Of course, it would be a long trip if Toroa had to make it alone. Along the way, the young bird can meet creatures of the sea and encounter distant relatives while crossing the ocean and taking to the skies.

Toroa: Skycall Is Out Now On Xbox

Toroa: Skycall is available now through the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox Series X|S for £11.74. If you are looking for a more reflective game to spend time with, one that swaps gunfire and explosions for ocean winds and wide-open skies, Toroa’s journey may be worth following.
