Otherwar brings chaos to Xbox

A surprising and chaotic mash-up of two classic genres, which has already been delighting players on other platforms, has just opened a portal to the Xbox and PC stores in OTHERWAR.

OTHERWAR, a game that blends Tower Defense with Bullet Hell, has launched via Take IT Studio!, developed by kantal collective. It is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC for the incredibly cheap price of just £4.99, and it comes with full Xbox Play Anywhere support.

Prepare to embody the role of a defender angel, where you must not only plan out your defenses but also dodge a sun-blotting barrage of fire from an encroaching hell horde.

A Holy War

In OTHERWAR, a hell horde is invading, and you, a defender angel, have been called forth to stop them. It falls upon your halo to plan out the defenses and protect your realm, but this will be no easy task.

What makes OTHERWAR unique is that you are not just a passive builder. While you will select and place a variety of towers before each of the nine levels – from straightforward offensive towers to more situational constructs like slowing fields – you are also an active participant on the battlefield.

You directly control the angel, who must dodge a constant barrage of different projectiles, from ever-following eyeballs to swirling patterns of leaves. You can even smite enemies on your own if your towers need help.

The cast of enemies will always keep you on your toes. Almost every enemy fires a different kind of projectile, and you’ll have to be on the lookout for special units like necromancers, who will raise skeletons from the dead if you don’t take them out quickly. Between missions, you can also upgrade the angel’s own skills and acquire new abilities to improve your chances of survival.

Your Battle, on Any Front

OTHERWAR is an Xbox Play Anywhere title. This fantastic feature means your holy war against the hell horde can continue, no matter which device you’re on. A single digital purchase on the Xbox Store for ÂŁ4.99 unlocks the game for you on both your Xbox console and your Windows PC.

All of your unlocked skills and progress are synced via the cloud, so you can seamlessly switch between platforms. You can defend a realm on your PC, then jump over to your Xbox to take on the next wave without ever losing your divine power.
