no more heroes 3 launch

He may have been away for over a decade, but everyone’s favourite wise-cracking, beam katana-wielding uber-assassin is back! That’s right, Travis Touchdown is getting his third outing as ‘number-one assassin in the world’ and trying with all his might to defend Earth and home-town Santa Destroy from an intergalactic threat.

Releasing today on Xbox, PlayStation and PC shores (following a 2021 release on Switch), No More Heroes 3 delivers even more of the cartoon craziness that fans of the series are very much accustomed to. And with the power of the latest and greatest in gaming platforms behind it, developers Grasshopper Manufacture are shaping this one up to be the most frantic, action-packed frenzy yet.

As well as his trusty beam katana that is capable of reducing any being to tiny little pieces of flesh and bone, No More Heroes 3 decks Travis out with an even more powerful weapon, if there were such a thing. It sounds the part too – the Death Glove!

Now there is nothing stopping Trav from reaching the top of the Galactic Superhero Rankings, a coveted title reached once he slays all ten of the biggest, baddest enemies within Prince Fu and his gang. Words don’t do the craziness of No More Heroes 3 justice: just know that, as well as killing literally anything in your path, you can also take time away for some lawn mowing, toilet-unclogging, and much more.

A more complete list of features coming to this threquel (as per its Steam page) include:

  • Grow Your Galactic Legend: In classic No More Heroes style, the Galactic Superhero Rankings are packed with outrageous boss battles, each oozing with personality. Soar through the ranks and prove you’re the baddest in the universe.
  • Old Dog, New Tricks: Travis may be one bad day away from a mid-life crisis, but he’s still an innovator when it comes to kicking ass. From beam katana boss to wrestling pro, Travis can do it all. Take violence to new extremes by hitting the Power Up Machine to unlock new skills and customizing the Death Glove with various ability-enhancing chips, and punish those deadly invaders with combat that suits your style.
  • Superheroic Side Hustles: Battling aliens ain’t cheap. Explore Santa Destroy on Travis’ Demzamtiger to pick up odd jobs, from Coast Guard missions to toilet cleaning, then hit the road to unique locales outside of Santa Destroy like Neo Brazil and Thunderdome to keep the cash rolling in.
  • Bolder, Badder, and Better Than Ever: Thanks to sharper visuals, No More Heroes 3 has never looked better. Add in improved load times and better responsiveness, and you’ll be dishing out eye-popping ultra-violence in no time.

Whether a No More Heroes superfan, or a newcomer to the franchise, you can bet your bottom dollar there’s no stranger game to arrive this year. No More Heroes III is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC and Switch. For us on Xbox, you can pick up a copy via the Xbox Store for $44.99 or take in the Digital Deluxe Edition for $53.99.

And if you need a review, ours is totally live.

Game Description:

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
