Trials is back with Trials Rising on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Switch

trials rising launch xbox one

We’ve been to sprawling factories, beautiful rural landscapes, and even the neon future, but now Trials is taking us on an adrenaline pumping, sightseeing, backflipping joyride across the world with Trials Rising on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch.

Available from today on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch, if you have somehow not heard of Trials throughout your gaming tenure, or need a refresher, then with Trials Rising you should expect to be tackling an almighty number of platforming tracks, with each requiring you to traverse them on a bucking motorcycle before reaching the end in record time. In order to do this a mastery of the vehicle’s physics and momentum will be needed, especially when the later levels will have you backflipping and somersaulting your way through all manner of threatening obstacles. Oh, and for the love of God – don’t crash!

And the base gameplay of Trials Rising is no different, save for this time the emphasis is on the wider scope of proceedings. On this world tour of a lifetime you’ll be riding up the Eiffel Tower, doing some sweet stunts off of Mount Everest, riding through Yellowstone National Park and exploring many more real-world environments, all while gunning for the fastest time on each level – so don’t let those Xbox One X Enhanced landscapes distract you too much.

A new addition to the series that Rising brings is the idea of a ‘career mode’, of sorts, in which you start from humble beginnings and attempt to become the ultimate motocross rider, accumulating sponsorships and beating both ghosts and online competitors on the dirt tracks. Talking of multiplayer, and aside from the online and local competitive offerings, you may wish to work with a friend to beat some levels. This is where the new Tandem Bike comes in, controlled by two players who must have exemplary communication skills in order to prosper.

Add all this to some in-depth outfit/bike customisation and that staple Trials ragdoll hilarity, and you’ve got another solid Trials experience on your hands.

You can now pick up Trials Rising on Xbox One for £19.99, or if you wish to have the extra goodies the Digital Gold Edition brings – a Stuntman Rider Pack, and Samurai Item Pack – including the game’s Expansion Pass, then you’re looking at £29.99. That Expansion Pass can also be purchased as a standalone item for £15.99. Keep in mind that Trials Rising is also available for PS4, PC and Switch.

Make sure you keep an eye out for our review too. And if you wish to know more about previous Trials titles, then you should check out our review of Trials Fusion on Xbox One.
