Here we are again and as one month begins to draw to a close, a new one looks set to open up. And in the gaming world that means the Xbox Games With Gold scheme is getting ready to drop a number of new free games to Xbox players the world over. The question is, are the Games With Gold titles for May 2021 actually worth the download effort?
Following on from April 2021 in which the Games With Gold scheme pushed out Vikings: Wolves of Midgard, Truck Racing Championship, Dark Void and Hard Corps: Uprising to Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players for free, May 2021 takes up the baton and runs with it, throwing out four more titles for nothing.
The quality is okay this month too, most definitely an upgrade on the couple which have come before it, with the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for May 2021 stripping the price tag from the following games…
- Armello – 1st-31st May 2021
- Dungeons 3 – 16th May – 15th June 2021
- LEGO Batman – 1st-15th May 2021
- Tropico 4 – 16th-30th May 2021
In order to take home these freebies, all you need to do is show your Xbox Live Gold membership at the Xbox Store door, hit the free download button between the sates shown above, and enjoy the gaming goodies that are on offer. And even if you don’t plan on playing these games right now, you may as well take in the free download and leave the game sitting on your hard drive for a rainy day.
The first two titles – Armello and LEGO Batman – will be going free real soon, and then we’ll be sure to remind you as and when Dungeons 3 and Tropico 4 are also available for nothing – expect that around the middle of the month.
Of course, with May on the horizon this does mean that those games given away through the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for April 2021 will soon be going up in price. If you haven’t yet grabbed the freebies of Vikings: Wolves of Midgard, or Hard Corps Uprising, time is fast running out. You’ve got a little longer – until mid-May – until Truck Racing Championship goes back up in price.
