Turbo Overkill Ultimate Edition
Turbo Overkill Ultimate Edition – out now

The cybernetic augments have been upgraded, and the streets of Paradise are ready for another coat of neon-drenched blood.

Apogee Entertainment and Trigger Happy Interactive have launched Turbo Overkill: Ultimate Edition, the definitive version of their high-octane cyberpunk joyride.

This mayhem-packed edition is available to purchase or upgrade to right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4|5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

This new release marks a celebration of the game’s legacy, arriving with a massive free quality-of-life update for all players and a host of new digital goodies for those who purchase the Ultimate Edition.

From Bonkers to Ultimate

When Turbo Overkill first slide-sliced its way onto the scene at the start of the year, we were completely blown away by its speed and ferocity. In our 4/5 review, we called it “bonkers – that special kind of bonkers that makes you sit back after a set piece fight and think ‘Did I just survive that?’.

We hailed it as “fast, furious, and insanely fun,” and an “easy sell” for any fan of the boomer shooter genre.

This new Ultimate Edition takes that already brilliant experience we covered at its initial launch and makes it even better, with a host of fan-requested improvements and new content.

What’s New in the Ultimate Edition?

This new release is a two-pronged assault, with a free update for everyone and a new premium edition packed with extras.

You see, a massive free update is rolling out today for all existing owners of Turbo Overkill. The headline feature is the introduction of highly requested new controller configurations, a fantastic addition for those playing on console or with a controller on PC. PlayStation 5 players will also benefit from new gyro control support and adaptive trigger support for the DualSense controller.

The Ultimate Edition itself includes a 140-page digital art book and a digital soundtrack sampler, giving fans a deeper look into the game’s stunning art and killer music. Existing owners can upgrade to the Ultimate Edition for just ÂŁ4.19 / $4.99.

Free Prequel Comic

In another great piece of news for all players, the digital Turbo Overkill: Original Syn prequel comic is now available for free in-game for all owners. This comic dives deeper into Johnny Turbo’s backstory and provides more context on the motives of his enemies.

100% Badass

For those new to the carnage, Turbo Overkill is a savage first-person shooter that puts you in the augmented boots of Johnny Turbo, a half-man, half-metal murder machine.

Johnny returns to his hometown of Paradise only to find it has descended into total chaos, with the world’s strongest AI overlord having taken control. Your not-so-simple mission is to clean up the streets of mutant scum, all while competing against rival bounty hunters for the ultimate cash prize.

He’s a Runner, He’s a Trackstar

This is a game all about speed and mobility. Johnny is augmented with hidden arm rockets and an iconic chainsaw that extends from his lower leg, allowing him to slide-slice enemies wide open. You will combine his dashes, double-jumps, and wall-running skills to soar through two dozen secret-packed levels, outgunning and outrunning the corrupted legions in your path.

The definitive version of one of the best boomer shooters in recent memory has arrived. With its huge quality-of-life update and a host of new digital goodies, there has never been a better time to clean up the streets of Paradise.

Turbo Overkill: Ultimate Edition is available right now. Head over to the Xbox Store if you want to pick it up on Xbox Series X|S.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
