Just as The Crew 2 becomes available to play for free as part of the latest free game weekend, Ubisoft are also found to be dropping the latest free update to the game – Hot Shots. Yep, it’s all about the freebies!

The third free update to hit The Crew 2 is now available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, bringing with it a new version of the LIVE Summit, a weekly PvE competition where Icon-level players get to take on nine selected activities, all in order to win new exclusive vehicles.

This will see the debut on console and PC of the brand new Bugatti Divo, one of the six new elite vehicles available for players to access. Further to that, Season Pass owners will get nothing less than even days early access to two new additional vehicles – the 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X and the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 from 2009, with both of these coming about via the game’s monthly drop.

But that’s not all and the Hot Shots update will also bring more than 40 new customisation items, including coloured smoke, custom tires and text emotes, brand-new unique challenges, additional Skills and in-game activities such as photo quests.

If you haven’t yet jumped in with a purchase of The Crew 2, then you may well like to know that to coincide with the Hot Shots release, The Crew 2 will be free this weekend, with access lasting until 28th April. During this time, players will have access to the full game and can test their skills on all events. It’ll also see The Crew 2 available for purchase at a discount of up to 70% off of the game and 50% off of the season pass, with progression from the free weekend carrying over to the full game purchase.

If you wish to know more about the game, then our full review of The Crew 2 on Xbox One will sort you out.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
