Got an Antstream Arcade subscription kicking around on your gaming platform of choice? It’s time to fire it up once more, as a couple of new games have been added to the service, no matter whether that be on Xbox, PlayStation, PC or mobile.
Antstream Arcade is a retro library of more than 1300 games. Available to stream and play immediately, if you like the old-school ways, then having an Antstream subscription feels a bit of a no-brainer. It’s playable across a number of formats too – Xbox, PC, mobile, and now PlayStation.
To keep all things Antstream Arcade exciting, the team behind it constantly add to the library. In fact, over the last weeks and months, we’ve seen weekly additions pop up, adding tons of great gaming ideas, all ready to play. That’s the case again this week as two more land – Risky Woods and Wonder Planet.
Risky Woods
Risky Woods – better known as Jashin Draxos in Japan – is a side-scrolling platformer that first launched to the world in 1992.
Having landed on various platforms, it’s the Mega Drive version that takes to Antstream this week; a version that was notable for having some visual differences from other versions.
If you haven’t played before, in Risky Woods you take on the role of Rohan, who is charged with ancient monks that have been frozen in stone by Draxos and his minions. From there, it’s a case of jumping from platform to platform, fighting monsters with a variety of weapons, and rescuing the stone monks. You know, old-school, retro gaming summed up.
Wonder Planet
Prefer to blast your way to some kind of victory? Wonder Planet may be a better fit.
This one comes straight out of 1987 to run vertically scrolling shoot ’em up principles. And that means taking charge of a starship and blasting anything and everything that moves. You know the deal and with power-ups, special bonuses and more to keep you busy, this is one that should excite.
There’s more!
As with most weeks, alongside the new games come a new challenges. This time you’ll get to head to Gun Force II (Arcade) and take on “A Mortal Coil”, forcing your way through and getting a high score in this explosive 1-life challenge.
“These are really exciting times at Antstream right now. The recent launch on iOS and last week on PlayStation brings our mission to allow fans to enjoy retro games anywhere, anytime closer to completion. But there is still more to come, and that includes regular additions to the already massive Antstream library, ensuring there is always something new for players to discover. This week’s titles, Risky Wood and Wonder Planet, are both great titles that are sure to be enjoyed by retro gamers.” – Steve Cottam, CEO of Antstream.
