Yeah we know that Game Pass may be the biggest draw in Xbox land at this time, but that’s not to say that you should ignore all other freebies that come your way. In fact, when the long-standing Xbox Games With Gold scheme turns up at your door with two new Xbox games that you need not pay for, you really should sit up and listen. Especially when one of those games is the brilliant Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield.
As the middle of February 2022 kicks into play, the Xbox Games With Gold scheme switches up angles, looking to attack all with a two-pronged delivery of new free games. Those games are the super-unique, rather damn brilliant Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield, and the old school Band of Bugs.
Following on from the price removal of Broken Sword 5 (a game which is still free until the end of Feb) and Hydrophobia (sorry, if you haven’t downloaded this for free, you’ve missed the boat) are two crackers.
It’s Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield which is the biggest draw, especially as the free nature and zero priced download comes right on the heels of a big old update for the game. A super stylish runner in which you need to help Wally escape from threat, Never Yield goes free via Games With Gold until the middle of March 2022.
With it comes the ‘Da Update’, the latest free addition to the game which adds all new story beats, graphical overhauls and more. With the base game already well on the way to stardom, only let down by its short nature, there’s absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t be playing this one, pronto. In fact, this is one of the best free Games With Gold titles of recent times – get it downloaded from the Xbox Store immediately. All you need to do is flash your valid Xbox Live Gold membership and that download can be yours.
Running alongside Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield is a much older title – one that first released back in 2007 on the old Xbox Live Arcade. Band of Bugs is the name and insect-themed infiltration is the game. It has you going up against bugs, spiders and more in a fast tactics styled strategy affair.
We’ll be honest, it’s been a looooong time since we spent even a minute in the land of Band of Bugs, and we’re not really sure how this native Xbox 360 title holds up today in a world dominated by the power of Xbox Series X|S, but for free, you may as well grab a copy right now. You’ve got until the end of February 2022 to visit the Xbox Store page and hit the download button.
