Just over a year ago the world was going mad for all things cyberpunk. There was obviously the biggy on the horizon in Cyberpunk 2077 (oh how that failed), but there were a ton of other smaller titles jumping on the back of that, looking to ride to success. It seems like that cyberpunk love-in is still alive and kicking though, with the latest, Sense – A Cyberpunk Ghost Story, attempting to draw players in once more.
Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Sense – A Cyberpunk Ghost Story from the development team at SUZAKU and the publishing guys of Top Hat Studios comes to market with many ideas.
It’s set in the year 2083, as we get to visit Neo Hong Kong and a young lady named Mei Lin Mak. You see, it’s her who has been found peering into the world of supernatural horror as she attempts to question the rights, the wrongs and her total perception of reality.
Playing out through a neon-soaked city, many a secret is hidden in the world of Sense – A Cyberpunk Ghost Story and it’s up to Mei Lin to navigate her way through the madness, unpicking the tales of 14 long lost souls. Oh, and she just so happens to be on the hunt of some family truths too.
With the cyberpunk feel, it goes without saying that this futuristic affair will be one that looks glorious. Running 2.5D exploration opportuntities, a ton of puzzle and problem solving, and more than a few supernatural glitches, the slow creep of dread is sure to excite. Just don’t expect too many jump scares or much in the way of fast paced action, Sense – A Cyberpunk Ghost Story is looking to deliver the narrative in drips and drabs.
We’ll be looking to go hands-on with Sense – A Cyberpunk Ghost Story in the coming days and will be sure to drop a review your way as soon as our thoughts can be processed. In the meantime, if you’re looking to get involved for yourself, the Xbox Store will provide the download of the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S version of Sense – A Cyberpunk Ghost Story that you need. A £16.74 price will need to be paid up.
Inspired by classic adventure games and the origins of the survival horror genre, Sense – A Cyberpunk Ghost Story celebrates the slow, cerebral creep of dread instead of relying on over-the-top action or jump scares. With careful attention to pacing, atmosphere and storytelling, this futuristic tale seamlessly blends 2.5D exploration and problem solving with suspenseful ghost encounters that act as paranormal glitches in our own reality. In Neo Hong Kong, 2083, a young woman named Mei Lin Mak is dragged into a maelstrom of supernatural horror. As she peers into the century old mystery, Mei is forced to question her perception of reality and her trust of her cybernetic eyes. Under the neon lights of a cyberpunk cityscape, the ruins of the Chong Sing Apartments hide a bloody secret illuminated by the traditions of Chinese folklore and innovations of the industrial future. If there is any hope of escaping this nightmare, Mei Lin must explore this complex, piecing together stories of 14 lost souls and discovering the truth of her own family curse.
