It’s been a while since Microids came to market with an Agatha Christie tale, but 5 years on from the release of The ABC Murders, we now get the opportunity to embark on a new tale. This one follows the legendary Hercule Poirot as investigations and detective works gets underway. But Agatha Christie – Hercule Poirot: The First Cases doesn’t let us join Poirot in his prime and instead focuses on the early days, and exactly what shaped his life.
Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam, Agatha Christie – Hercule Poirot: The First Cases has been developed by the Blazing Griffin team, with Microids picking up the publishing rights.
It’s priced at £33.49 and so anyone, not just fans of Poirot or Christie, could certainly see this as a bit of a tempting proposition, especially as it focuses efforts on a period of the detective’s life that we rarely see or hear.
Sold as an all-new story, Agatha Christie – Hercule Poirot: The First Cases obviously does what you would expect from any game with these names attached, and complex murder cases are ready to be solved throughout the adventure. But there are many secrets which need unveiling here and so it’ll be up to you to question and interrogate multiple suspects, learning the info required and eventually pointing the finger in the right direction. Just expect more than a single twist or turn with what The First Cases provides.
In all though, from the outside looking in (at least until we get hands-on with a view to full review), Agatha Christie – Hercule Poirot: The First Cases has exactly what we need in a detective thriller. In fact, the key points and features pretty much cover everything required…
