Use the force to grab LEGO Star Wars III for free on Xbox One and Xbox 360 via Games With Gold

Quite recently in a galaxy not so far, far away, LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars became stripped of its price tag as part of the Xbox Games With Gold for September and legend has it that it’ll remain this way for a little while yet. This is the freebie you are looking for!

We can all admit, it’s never easy to get excited for a game that’s seven years old, but as it’s LEGO and Star Wars being combined, it’s surely well worth a look, right? Especially as it features stories from The Clone Wars series, spread out across more than 20 missions – all of which have been given the usual, often humorous, LEGO treatment. Prepare to go forth in charge of clone trooper battalions, tackling the relentless droid army, battling it out it space and occasionally coming face to face with huge bosses such as Gor and Zillo Beast.

The whole game is playable in local co-op and there’s something quite therapeutic about smashing up everything in sight with a friend to obtain the in-game currency, Studs. And you can fight for the noble Republic or the dastardly Separatists in LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars on Xbox One (via Backward Compatibility) and Xbox 360 right now without paying the usual £11.99. For as long as you’re an Xbox Live Gold Member, it’s free on the Microsoft Store thanks to Games With Gold until 15th September.

May the force be with you!

Game Description:

Laugh your way through an all-new story that takes you through 16 different systems and experience brand new features like massive ground battles, boss fights, and multi-layered space combat. Expanded Force abilities, brand new weapons, characters, environments, and over 20 story-based missions make this the most action-packed LEGO game to date!

Been gaming casually since the SNES as a youngster but found my true passion for games on the Playstation 1 (the forbidden word ooo). My addiction grew to its pinnacle with the purchase of an Xbox 360 & Xbox Live Service. A recovering GS hunter that will still play literally any game.
