When you’ve got Xeno Crisis and Battle Axe in your back catalogue, you probably know a thing or two about making games. When you then combine that knowledge with the creative musical genius of the 90’s chart-topping electronic dance duo, Utah Saints, you’ve just got to be on to a winner. That’s the hope for Numskull Games, Bitmap Bureau and their upcoming beat ‘em up, Final Vendetta.

Coming in hot on the heels of 2020’s Streets of Rage 4 is Final Vendetta; a beat ‘em up which has been created by Bitmap Bureau (they previously behind Xeno Crisis and Battle Axe), is being published by Numskull Games and is being powered by the musical masterpieces of the one and only Utah Saints.

Final Vendetta is due to arrive on console and PC in May 2022, and will look to deliver players with the side scrolling beat ‘em up action that they are looking for. It pays homage to the most iconic of titles – those beat ‘em ups that graced the arcades way back when – toeing the line with inspiration from Double Dragon and Final Fight.

It’ll be fully playable either in solo or co-op mode, but no matter which you use, Final Vendetta will pull no punches. It’ll deliver a unique story, four different game modes and a thumping dance/techno soundtrack that has been curated by Featurecast which also features four exclusive tracks from 90’s chart-topping electronic dance duo, Utah Saints. And yeah, we’ve got it going round in our heads too…

With Bitmap Bureau fast becoming known for games with beautifully animated pixel art, unique exciting gameplay and delivering a modern take on a beloved retro genre, hopes are sky high for Final Vendetta.

It’s Numskull Games who will be behind the release though, with it launching on all platforms digitally – Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. You’ll find physical editions running for PS4, PS5 and Switch too, as will a limited run of Special Editions featuring exclusive merch.

“We’re thrilled to be publishing Final Vendetta, another brilliant retro-inspired title from the Bitmap Bureau team” said Martin Defries, Managing Director at Numskull Games. “It’s been twenty years since we’ve seen a game like this, combining everything we love about those 90s classics with a distinctly modern style. Beat ‘em up fans will not be disappointed.”.

We’ll be sure to keep you in the loop with any and all developmental advances for Final Vendetta in the lead up to release on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC in May 2022.

For now, take in that lovely trailer below.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Both XenoCrisis and Battle Axe had much better spritework than this.
