2K and Marvel have released Redemption, the second post-launch DLC for Marvel’s Midnight Suns featuring Venom.

Available today for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam, Epic), if you’re a Marvel’s Midnight Suns player then you will be able to get involved in the latest expansion, Redemption.

In Redemption, Venom joins the Midnight Suns to right the wrongs he committed under Lilith’s demonic influence. You see, blood-sucking vampyres have infested the sewers beneath New York City, but even they quake in fear at the sight of Venom’s pitch-black claws and razor-sharp teeth. With help from the Midnight Suns, Venom is found to be fighting to regain control of his actions and rid New York City of the undead scourge.

Players can recruit Venom by completing his first story mission, “The Devil’s Due,” which becomes playable after completing the “Shattering Expectations” mission at the end of Act One.

Once in place, Venom boasts ten unique Hero Abilities that make him a formidable ally in battle. On the battlefield, Venom starts each encounter with a big damage bonus in the form of Ravenous, a unique mechanic that increases his base offense. By using an Attack or Heroic, one stack of Ravenous gets depleted, refilled a bit each turn, making Venom particularly bursty as a character.

Redemption also includes new story missions that allow players to continue the fight against the vampyre threat in New York City. And in addition to that, you’ll be able to upgrade the Abbey with the Whisper Web upgrade, which unlocks the ability to use Intel to modify general missions; applying a random modifier, such as switching the mission leader and decreasing the mission difficulty, to make missions easier to complete.

Upgrading that Whisper Web adds an additional reward to the mission, such as Credits, Blueprints or Essence.

In summary:

  • New Recruitable Hero: Venom, a savage symbiote wielding 10 unique Hero Abilities
  • New Story Missions: Continue the fight against the vampyre threat in New York City
  • New Abbey Upgrade: Whisper Web
  • 3 Additional Hero Skins, 7 Abbey Outfits, and 2 Swimsuits for Venom

Venom’s inclusion in Marvel’s Midnight Suns on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC is sure to be a major draw for fans of the character, and the addition of the Redemption DLC will only serve to further whet their appetites.

If you don’t yet have a copy of Marvel’s Midnight Suns, then the introduction of Venom may well mean that there has never been a better time to get involved. You’ll find the base game over at the Xbox Store, the PlayStation Store or on PC. The content itsef can be found in the Season Pass too.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
