Caroline isn’t here to be a hero. She’s here to get paid.
In Viscerafest, that payday means carving a path through armies, cultists and things that probably shouldn’t exist, all in pursuit of a bounty big enough to fund the perfect wedding ring. It’s a ridiculous setup, and the game leans into it fully, delivering a shooter that feels loud, fast and constantly on the edge of spiralling out of control.
Now available on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 for ÂŁ20.99, with a Nintendo Switch version arriving later, Viscerafest makes the jump from PC after earning Very Positive reviews on Steam since its April 2025 debut.

A Bounty Hunt That Quickly Gets Out Of Hand
What starts as a straightforward job quickly unravels. Caroline is tasked with hunting down a warlock with a sizeable bounty on his head, but getting to him means pushing through a small army standing in the way. Soldiers from the U.S.C., fanatical cultists and a collection of increasingly strange creatures all pile into the fight, turning every level into a chaotic gauntlet.
Mostly though, Viscerafest is built around speed.
Standing still isn’t an option for long, as the game encourages constant motion through bunny hopping, dashing and sharp directional control. Once it clicks, there’s a real sense of flow, darting through incoming fire while lining up your next attack.
It’s not just about reacting either. Positioning matters, and learning how to move efficiently becomes just as important as knowing when to shoot.
Weapons, Enemies And Controlled Mayhem
There’s plenty of firepower to play with, from explosive shotguns to more unconventional weapons that add a bit of unpredictability to each encounter.
But the real challenge comes from what you’re up against. With more than 27 enemy types and multiple boss fights, Viscerafest constantly shifts the pressure, introducing new threats that force you to rethink how you approach each fight.
You’re rarely given the chance to settle. That’s very much the point.
Not Just Run And Gun
Despite the chaos, there’s structure underneath it all. Levels are packed with secrets, objectives and keycards, encouraging you to explore rather than simply blast your way forward. At the same time, resource management plays a role, as you balance ammo, health and armour to stay alive.
It adds just enough depth to keep things interesting without slowing the pace.
Having already proven itself on Steam, Viscerafest arrives on console in a solid state. Updated UI, improved performance and full controller support help ensure the experience translates smoothly, keeping that fast-paced feel intact whether you’re playing on Xbox or PlayStation.
Given its reception on PC, this feels like a natural expansion rather than a risky leap.
Fast, Fierce And Fully Committed To The Chaos
Viscerafest knows exactly what it wants to be. It’s a high-speed, high-intensity shooter that rewards movement, precision and quick thinking, all wrapped in a deliberately over-the-top premise. If you’re after something that keeps your hands busy and your focus locked in, there’s a lot to like here.
Just don’t expect a quiet moment.
Find Viscerafest on the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox Series X|S. It’s also on the PlayStation Store if you prefer.
