Currently available on PC via both Steam and the Epic Games Store, Faeria has now brought its epic card based battling to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch – and this is one exquisite world you’ll not want to miss visiting.

Priced at £16.74 and available to purchase and download this very minute from the Xbox Store or Nintendo eShop – alongside those PC offerings – Faeria comes about via a combination of the teams at Versus Evil and Abrakam to give console gamers a new option in the collectible card and turn-based strategy genres.

A PS4 version of Faeria is due to launch later this year, but for now Xbox One and Switch players have got something pretty special ahead of them. Our full review of the Xbox One edition can be taken in right now, and it will tell you how Faeria just about edges out the other free CCGs around it, mostly due to the sheer amount of solo player content – more than 100 hours – that is in place.

On the whole though Faeria is a game that has previously been praised for its artistically stunning fantasy universe, as you get given the chance to head off on a highly challenging quest which will see you facing off against numerous adversaries on a unique, living board. it is this board which brings the unieuq feel of Faeria, amending as you dictate the way the game should play. You’ll be given the opportunity to craft exciting decks and shape the battlefield to raise mountains, build forests, fill lakes or harness the sands of the desert and engage in epic clashes to outsmart and defeat your opponent.

“Bringing Faeria to consoles with cross-play has been the main focus of Versus Evil since we started working with Abrakam,” said Steve Escalante, Versus Evil General Manager. “Faeria continues to be listed with the top CCGs in the market, and bringing this to consoles while supporting play with our PC community is adding to the fun. The Nintendo Switch version will be particularly popular, as Faeria is a perfect fit for the system’s handheld mode and touchscreen. We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy Faeria and are pleased you can play this game on your platform of choice.”

Should you be in the market for a new deck builder and reckon you’ve got the skills to pay those virtual bills, then a copy of Faeria should well be yours. The Xbox Store and the Nintendo eShop will sort you out with the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions of the game. Let us know in the comments if you decide to grab it.

And if you like what you find, make sure you check out the multiple DLC packs that have also become available. Which you decide to take is totally up to you…

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
