Wanted Shadows Unchained – coming later in 2025

The creatures of the night are rising once more, but this time, the hunt is being completely rebuilt from the ground up.

Conradical Games (The Outbound Ghost, Soul Stalker) has officially revealed Wanted Shadows: Unchained, a new, standalone survivors-like game set to launch in Q4 of this year.

The game is confirmed to be coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch platforms, and PC.

A Standalone Reimagining

Revealed with a brand-new announcement trailer, Unchained is a complete reimagining of the 2023 title Wanted Shadows, promising a more action-packed experience with deeper progression and a host of new features.

Wanted Shadows: Unchained is not a sequel or a simple remaster; it’s a completely new and definitive way to experience the tight and chaotic gameplay of the original. The game has been rebuilt from the ground up, with a focus on creating a more intense and rewarding experience for both new players and fans of the 2023 release.

Your mission remains the same: survive. You will fight your way through hordes of creatures of the night who are trying to take over the underworld. You’ll need to unlock permanent weapons, learn which upgrades synergize best, and push your limits against increasingly difficult enemies.

What’s New in Unchained?

This new version is packed with significant changes and additions that evolve the core gameplay loop.

A brand-new combat system allows you to equip both a melee and a ranged weapon at the same time. This opens up a world of new strategic possibilities, as you can exploit their exclusive upgrades to come up with even more powerful and devastating combos.

The levels have been redesigned to be shorter and more compact. This change is designed to make the game more action-packed than ever before, ensuring that every single moment counts and the intensity never lets up.

Unchained is a much bigger game than its predecessor. It features more characters, more upgrades, more powers, and more areas to explore. A new achievement system also adds permanent upgrades to your progression, increasing the power ceiling to unprecedented levels. On top of that, a brand-new hub world has been added, allowing you to interact with characters and learn more about the lore of the Shadows.

From a Developer Who Makes the Games Nobody Else Does

Wanted Shadows: Unchained comes from Conradical Games, an independent studio based in Switzerland with a unique philosophy: they are focused on “developing the games that nobody else makes.” From innovative genre combinations to deeply personal storytelling, the studio aims to craft games that fill gaps in the gaming landscape, delivering experiences that players didn’t even know they were missing.

A new and definitive battle for the underworld is about to begin. With its more intense, action-packed focus and a host of deep new progression systems, Wanted Shadows: Unchained is the ultimate version of this chaotic survivors-like adventure.

Keep an eye out for further news, and an upcoming closed playtest before the full launch, later this year.
