Rise Eterna II – out todaty

A riveting new tale of war, vengeance, and intrigue has been strategically deployed on consoles and PC, as the next chapter in the Rise Eterna saga arrives to build upon its tactical RPG foundations.

Rise Eterna 2 from Forever Entertainment and TA Publishing is available today on Nintendo Switch, Steam, GOG, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Prepare to step into the shoes of a loyal soldier, embark on a mission to reclaim an Empire’s lost glory, and destroy a powerful army in a game where every decision you make will shape the course of the conflict.

A Journey We’ve Followed

We’ve been with the Rise Eterna series since its initial Xbox debut. Back in our 3/5 review of the original Rise Eterna from 2021, we noted that while it was a “serviceable strategy RPG offering,” it was “worth checking out only if you’re starved for options.” This sequel has a clear mission: to improve on its predecessor and deliver a truly compelling experience.

Strategic Combat and Deep Customisation

Rise Eterna 2 places you in the middle of an ongoing war between two families coveting the kingdom’s throne and a third force plotting its last act of revenge.

You will experience 24 missions that take place across various locations and biomes, all combined with strategic and tactical combats that will challenge your decision-making skills. You’ll need to use the terrains to your advantage, catching the enemy at a disadvantage with every move.

The game features a compelling recruitment and party organisation system that lets you test various combinations and strategies at will.

You can choose from over 20 types of gems to enhance your heroes’ abilities and weapons, and each character has their own skill trees with multiple factors, including their background, affecting their skillset. This allows you to grow stronger, adapt to new challenges, and unleash your full potential.

Check out the tactical action in the official launch trailer…

The Fight for the Throne

Set a few years after the events of the first game, you play as Jacht, a devoted Athracian soldier. Your mission is to reclaim your Empire’s lost glory and slay the Destroyer.

As two families fight for the kingdom’s throne and one warrior plots her revenge, every decision you make will shape the course of the conflict.

Your Tactical Briefing

Here’s what you can expect from this new tactical RPG:

  • A Riveting Tale of War, Vengeance, and Intrigue: Continue the story of Jacht, a loyal Athracian soldier.
  • 24 Missions of Strategic and Tactical Combat: Test your decision-making skills across various locations.
  • Terrain Advantage: Use the environment to catch enemies at a disadvantage.
  • Deep Customisation: Recruit and organize your party, enhance abilities with gems, and develop skill trees.

The war for the throne has begun, and your decisions will shape the fate of an empire. If you’re a fan of tactical RPGs, Rise Eterna 2 is ready for your command, today on the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s also on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and PC through Steam.

Will you reclaim lost glory?

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
