Today LEGO Dimensions was announced to be releasing on a multitude of console platforms later this year, but what exactly will it be about? Pretty much everything in the world of LEGO!

When in launches on the 29th September, 2015 for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U, we can expect to see a real fusion of all our favourite LEGO universes, ranging from the DC Comics world to Middle-earth with the Lord of the Rings. LEGO Dimensions will focus on a story in which a mysterious vortex sweeps away different characters from worlds like DC, Back to the Future, Wizard of Oz, The LEGO Movie and more yet to be announced. It’s down to Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle to save the day, what a trio that is!

This is no ordinary game though; in the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack there will be a LEGO Toy Pad that will allow players to transport special minifigures and LEGO objects into the game. Also included in the starter pack will be bricks the LEGO Gateway, the LEGO Batmobile and three minifigures – Gandalf, Batman and Wyldstyle. There are plans to release expansion packs to buy this year too, so far some of those mentioned they’ve mentioned are DC Comics Fun Packs featuring Cyborg and Wonder Woman, LEGO Ninjago Team Pack consisting of Kai and Cole minifigures and many many more.

Are you excited yet? Just imagine the possibilities with so many universes in one game… watch the video below featuring Community’s Joel McHale and decide for yourself.

This. Is. Awesome.
