Warpball looking for Pixelfunder cash and an Xbox One/PC release

Crowdfunding is a great way for small indie developers to raise cash, and get the required guidance from the community, in respects their latest game. One of the most recent to go down the crowdfunding route is Warpball.

Greenlit on Steam in less than 2 weeks, played by Phil Spencer at MineCon 2015 and selected as part of the Square Enix Collective, Warpball takes the standard game of football and mixes things up massively!

An action filled, multiplayer sports title with super fast pace, Warpball runs like FIFA, has been compared to Rocket League and has quite obviously been inspired by the likes of Speedball 2. Gameplay wise, it takes your game of football and throws in a teleporting mechanic, facing teams off against each other on futuristic pitches, using abilities and passing, teleporting and shooting their way to glory.

Key features include:

  • Online and local multiplayer: Many indie games are local multiplayer only. Not us! Kick ass all round the world
  • Lots of Replay Value: Between the arena layouts, character ability choices, and even player tactics, two matches of WarpBall can be very different experiences
  • Character Customisation: Choose your character, ability and a procedurally generated skin.
  • Single Player League: No friends? No problem! Single player leagues and trophys to keep yourself busy
  • Easy to pick up: The basics of WarpBall are fast to pick up, although the game’s depth takes time to master!
  • Awesome Soundtrack: 20-track electronic soundtrack sourced from the Outtalectual Collective!

If Warpball tickles your fancy, or you just fancy helping developer Unruly Attractions fulfil their goal, then head on over to the Pixelfunder page right now and drop a little cash. It certainly looks an interesting concept that could work supremely well on Xbox One.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
