The team behind the authentic hunting simulation, Way of the Hunter, has two big reasons to celebrate – one of which is the introduction of the Night Hunting Pack.
Firstly, Nine Rocks Games and THQ Nordic have announced that the game has officially sold over one million copies since its launch in August 2022. Secondly, and perhaps more excitingly for active players, a brand-new challenge with the launch of the Night Hunting Pack DLC.
A New Challenge After Dark: The Night Hunting Pack
One of the most-requested features since Way of the Hunter’s release is finally here. The Night Hunting Pack introduces a whole new dimension to the wilderness, allowing players to stalk their prey under the cover of darkness.
This new paid DLC isn’t just a simple filter; it delivers specialised tools and refined mechanics designed to authentically capture the unique tension, thrill, and strategy of hunting after dark. Crafted to be immersive and challenging, it will push the skills of even the most seasoned hunters in new and exciting ways.

They emphasise that from day one, player input has shaped the game’s evolution, guiding the expansion of new maps, gear, mechanics, and features, all grounded in realism.
The Way of the Hunter Experience
For those unfamiliar, Way of the Hunter is an authentic hunting experience set in large open-world environments across the USA and Europe. The game prides itself on its realism, featuring dozens of strikingly detailed animal species with realistic behaviour models, alongside a variety of detailed and highly realistic weapons with sophisticated ballistics simulation.
Players can face the challenges of ethical hunting within a compelling story about a family hunting business or simply explore and hunt the rich environments freely, either solo or with friends in co-op mode.
A Deeper, Darker Hunt?
This new content drop and impressive sales milestone show a dedicated community has formed around the game’s deep simulation, despite some initial technical hurdles.
