Making the most of a Kickstarter campaign to help finalise the project, the team at ActaLogic is today formally announcing Wayfarers: Call of Osiris.
A new 3rd person action adventure that will launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC (Steam), Wayfarers: Call of Osiris will throw players into a world that combines present-day and ancient Egypt in an unprecedented way. It’ll have us joining the lives of Jack and Leila Dawes, an American couple who have answered the call of Osiris, the god of afterlife, in the war between ancient Egyptian deities. But how willing is their participation, and what role does Set, the god of violence and destruction, play in the age-old conflict?
What this means is that Wayfarers: Call of Osiris promises to reignite the love of classic archeological adventure. By following both Jack and Leila, players will get to travel to Egypt and land in the middle of a war between age-old deities. And if you do, you’ll need to take control of the soldierly Jack and challenge the evil god Set with the help of your wife, Leila. Transporting yourself into ancient legends that herald the return of the age of gods, may never have been so good.
As ActaLogic confirm the game’s developmental cycle, they have set up a new Kickstarter campaign, hoping to hit a goal of £74,000, which should then allow the team to finish things off and give it a good old polish. If this is a game that you have taken an interest in, it may well be worth you considering dropping a little cash in to the various tiers. There are cheap, and expensive options on the table.
The key features you should keep in mind include:
- AMAZING ARCHEOLOGY: Explore real temples above ground and the interiors of famous pyramids, as well as vast magical underworlds below them. Avoid traps and solve puzzles!
- SEND THEM TO ANUBIS: Use real weapons against several unique tribes of enemies that require different approaches, as well as giant bosses.
- A TUMULTUOUS TALE: Take control of Jack Dawes, a maverick U.S. special forces operative. Both he and his wife Leila are burdened by a nasty curse that opens up old wounds deep inside their souls.
- REMARKABLE AUTHENTICITY: Explore famous pyramids and temples, from the Great Pyramids of Giza, to the temples at Karnak, Edfu, Abu Simbel and the Valley of the Kings. Amass collectibles and listen to real ancient Egyptian language.
- SOLID TALENT: Music by Austin Wintory, main characters voiced by Troy Baker and Krizia Bajos.
So what do you think? Is Wayfarers: Call of Osiris one to watch? We’ll keep you in the loop going forward, but for now you should take in the trailer below and hit up the Kickstarter campaign.
We’re expecting to see Wayfarers: Call of Osiris release on Xbox, PlayStation and PC in Q3 2022.
