A Week In The Hub – 3rd Nov-9th Nov 2013

With Xbox One getting closer to it’s release date, things are moving at a million miles an hour in Xboxland. As such, we’ve got a number of articles to choose from this week, although it’s been the following which have really stood out for me.

I hope you all saw the Xbox One all-in-one video demo we posted on Friday? If not, then I advise you find 12 minutes of spare time, sit down and have a watch. There’s not anything in there that we didn’t already know about, but the ease in which Yusuf Mehdi and Marc Whitten use the Xbox One (and switch seamlessly between each others profiles and apps), is outstanding. I know it’s not in a ‘real world scenario’ and these things are always made to look good, but if it works half as well as it does for them in the video, I’ll be one happy chappy.

You also can’t fail to miss out on watching the Call of Duty live action trailer that was released on the 3rd November. Live-action trailers have come to the forefront over the last few years and if you throw in a sprinkling of Megan Fox, then surely you’re on to a winner.

We also had a fair bit of Forza 5 news to bring you this week. Not only did Turn 10 throw out a super sexy launch trailer, but they also finalised their car lineup by releasing another 35 vehicles, including this years Lotus F1 beast. With 200+ cars on the Forza 5 disk, and the promise of plenty of downloadable content, racing fans will feel like they’ve died and gone to heaven when they finally get their hands on the game. You can also check out the full list of those cars, listed by manufacturer, in an article posted today.

This last week also saw us get our first Q&A with a developer. Ty Taylor of The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild kindly agreed to a number of questions in relation to his upcoming Xbox Live Arcade title, The Bridge. Out on Wed 13th November, The Bridge is a puzzler set in the style of M.C. Escher and is very much looking like one to watch out for on the arcade.

And last, but certainly not the least one on my favourite TXH articles list this week, is our review of WWE 2K14. It was James’ first review for TheXboxHub and a damn good read it was as well. A 5 out of 5 rating is only saved for the best of games, and this is most definitely up there as one of those. If you have even the smallest hint of interest in the WWE series, then I advise you to read the review, and then buy the game on the back of what you’ve just read!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
