Which of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold bargains should you pick up? – 12th Apr 2016

The Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale for 12th-18th April 2016 is now up and running, bringing a number of discounts to a variety of games that Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners may just wish to check out. But which are the best of the discounts in place and which are the absolute worst? We take a little look and give you our thoughts.

Now, I’m not even going to bother sitting here and wasting either my time or yours by going into depth and telling you why the special editions of Forza 6 aren’t classed as bargains – you can see that for yourself. I will however point you in the direction of the games below, some of which are currently available for a more than decent price…whilst others are just not worthy of the cash.

Grab – Spy Chameleon – 50% off – £2.00 – Xbox One

Spy Chameleon isn’t going to be the best game you play this year. But it’s certainly not going to be the worst either and for a measly £2.00 is a bit of a no-brainer.

You won’t find anything too taxing as you hit your coloured Xbox One face buttons helping our chameleon buddy navigate his way through multiple hued levels, but if you find yourself with an evening free and fancy something cheap to get involved with, then Spy Chameleon will deliver the goods. For more convincing, check out our review.

Grab – Remember Me – 75% off – £4.99 – Xbox 360

We’d like to see Remember Me a bit cheaper, but for a fiver this is the best Xbox 360 offer you’re going to get.

Many will know of the developers, DONTNOD Entertainment, as the guys behind the outstanding Life Is Strange episodic mystery adventure. But prior to getting involved with messing with people’s minds in Arcadia Bay, they were happily throwing out quirky games on Xbox 360 – whilst messing with people’s minds – in Remember Me. It may have arrived a few years ago to rather mixed reviews, but we thought it was a clever premise that was well worth checking out. Now it’s super cheap, there is no time like the present.

Beware though it seems like DONTNOD have a bit of a penchant for memory remixing!

Leave – EA SPORTS NHL 16 – 67% off – £18.15 – Xbox One

You’ve got a choice. Purchase NHL 16 right now for £18, or spend £2 more and get a whole year’s worth of EA Access on Xbox One. Obviously, the latter option will allow you full access to NHL 16, plus a whole ton of other games, further discounts and early access to new games.

Why on earth would anyone on this earth spend nearly the equivalent on one game by itself?

Leave – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Danger of the Ooze – 63% off – £11.09 – Xbox 360

The turtles will soon be arriving once more with a new game and a new film. Surely that must mean it’s a prime time to check out the previous offerings?

Well, yes it should be, but if we’re being honest no previous Turtles experience on Xbox has ever lived up to the franchises name. Danger of the Ooze hits the Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale with a price point that, even at 63% off, is still far too high. We’d be telling you to snap it up and check out the adventures of Don, Leo, Raph and Mike were it priced around a fiver – if only for TMNT hypes sake – but at more than double that price? No thank you!

So, another week and very few bargains really worth worrying about. If you want to check out the full listing, then you can find the full Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale right here. If you want to save even more money, head over to CDKeys and pick up some super cheap Xbox Live credit first.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.

Dishonored is also a great choice. I played it on PC 5 times so I had to grab it at 50% off for my Xbox 😀
