In a week that sees the release of Sea of Thieves, Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered and a ton of other titles, checking out some of the older games from the vast Xbox library won’t really be of interest to many. But when the Xbox Live Deals With Gold Sale comes delivering discounts to Xbox One and Xbox 360 you really should sit up and listen – and that’s exactly what is happening today with the discounts detailed for the 20th-26th March 2018.
It must be said that it’s not the greatest week ever, but there are still a number of games that you should, and shouldn’t, be checking out. But which are they? We take a look.
Grab – Dragon Age: Inquisition – Game of the Year Edition – 75% off – £6.25
It took home a whole ton of awards upon release, but the Game of the Year Edition of Dragon Age: Inquisition just pushes things on to the next level. If you haven’t yet played the game, and don’t have EA Access then this is an essential game to own.
Of course, EA Access members will be sitting there laughing that for their £20 a year they already have access to this game (and numerous others), and you won’t ever find us speaking negative of the brilliant Access Vault, but should you not be able to stretch to that, but still want a brilliant adventure, then you’re going to struggle to find Dragon Age: Inquisition any cheaper.
With plenty of customisation opportunities and a cracking adventure ahead, the inclusion of the GOTY add-ons, including the Jaws of Hakkon, The Descent, and Trespasser additions mean this should be the very first thing you buy this week.
Tempter – Color Symphony – 75% off – £2.00
What’s that you say? £2.00 and this is still only in the tempting category? Well yes, that’s right because whilst Color Symphony is dirt cheap, it doesn’t ever hit any real heights.
In fact, it’s quite a frustrating little game, but should you be in the market for an action puzzler that utilises colour throughout, then it is now just about worth a look. But only because it is so cheap.
It must be said that it has some lovely visuals and a damn brilliant backing tune, but you’ll need to be aware that getting your head around the actual gameplay mechanics will be essential for anyone looking to really enjoy it.
…and that is why this is only tempting.
Leave – Horse Racing 2016 – 85% off – £1.56
If there is one game that you should leave well alone, probably for the rest of eternity, then Horse Racing 2016 is it.
In fact, it’s so poor, and such a disgusting use of time, effort and money, that I’m not actually sure we should be classing it as a game. See, games should be fun and Horse Racing 2016 is about as far away from any form of fun as you’re likely to get. Even bad games can be funny, but this is just an utter waste of any effort.
Do yourself a favour and ignore Horse Racing 2016 – even at the low £1.56 price tag. Hell, even keep away if it is free!
So that’s it for this week and even though it’s great to see the Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale back for another week, it is yet another that will struggle to enthuse many. By all means check out those games listed above – and for the full list of discounts available between the 20th-26th March 2018 check out our full sale article – but chances are you’ll be left sailing the high seas of Sea of Thieves to even worry about saving cash.
Don’t forget that if you do find something that takes your fancy, we highly advise you head over to CDKeys and grab some of their cheap Xbox Live Credit to ensure your money goes further.
