Which of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold bargains should you pick up? – 24th October 2017

-

With the busiest period of the gaming calendar now in full swing it can be hard to choose where to spend your cash first. One thing all of us can appreciate though is a bargain and whilst the intrigue of those blockbuster titles is sure to be pulling on our wallets, there are still some great deals to be had with this week’s Xbox Live Deals with Gold and Spotlight Sale – and that’s even though the Shocktober sale has arrived alongside it. So here are our thoughts on the best and worst Deals With Gold bargains you should grab between the 24th-30th October 2017.

Grab – Lords of the Fallen – 70% off – £4.50

Dark Souls is a beloved franchise to many, however with the reputation it’s built for sheer difficulty, it can often be a series the more casual gamers out there will often tend to avoid. Should you want to try something in the same vein, but with an easier difficulty though, then look no further.

Lords of the Fallen is a fantastic action RPG that blends the gameplay style of Dark Souls into its fabrics, provides a fantastic story and is a lot more accessible to players, whilst still providing a classic risk/reward style upgrade system for the protagonist.

At under five pounds, Lords of the Fallen represents incredible value for money, and should you find yourself with a little extra cash, then you should even consider diving into the complete edition that’s also on sale this week for an equally fantastic price.

Tempter – The Technomancer – 75% off – £8.75

Not much was known about The Technomancer on its arrival, and unless you’re one of those who jumped into the experience early, then there’s a high chance you still don’t know what it’s about.

All in all, The Technomancer is an action RPG set during the War of the Water, some 200 years after humans colonized Mars. With a full crafting system in place for weapons and armour, choice based decisions and five different endings, there is plenty to keep players occupied.

The combination of beautiful environments, great world building and an engaging story sees the low price tag justified.

LeaveFlatOut 4: Total Insanity – 50% off – £22.50

After spending many hours with FlatOut 4: Total Insanity, I can safely say that it was nowhere near the game many of us had been hoped for.

With poor damage modelling, repetitive gameplay and a lack of improvement over its predecessors FlatOut 4 completely failed to live up to expectations. Bugbear Entertainment are now working on Wreckfest for PC and console release, so it’s probably worth avoiding this one at all costs, instead waiting a little longer for the highly anticipated release of Wreckfest for all your destructive needs.
