The Cabin Factory
The Cabin Factory – out now on console

Step right up, new Cabin Inspector! Your unique (and slightly terrifying) job has just begun, as The Cabin Factory, a brand-new walking spot-the-difference horror game has opened its doors on consoles.

Inspired by the unsettling charm of The Exit 8 and POOLS, The Cabin Factory has launched. This new title from developer International Cat Studios and publisher Feardemic is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. It only costs £2.49.

Prepare to explore seemingly identical cabins, sort the artificially scary from the truly supernatural, and make the call: is it safe, or is it haunted?

A Job Like No Other

You are a newly hired Cabin Inspector. Your job is simple – inspect the cabins and determine whether or not they are haunted. You must examine the cabin props, and make the call whether they’re safe or not to be used on set.

The gameplay is straightforward, but incredibly tense.

  • Step 1: Inspect the entire cabin. Don’t miss a detail and trust your instincts.
  • Step 2: If you determine the cabin is safe, press ‘CLEAR’ and move on.
  • Step 3: But if it’s haunted, you must quickly turn back and press ‘DANGER’.

The game blends a dense atmosphere with meticulous sound design to immerse you in a disturbing experience where reality bends at every step.

Compact Horror

For those who are tired of long, drawn-out horror games, The Cabin Factory offers a compact narrative. You can experience the full story in one evening, making it perfect for a focused, spine-tingling session.

The influences for The Cabin Factory are clear and compelling. It draws inspiration from liminal spaces and psychological horror walking simulators, directly referencing the viral hit The Exit 8 and POOLS. We’re very familiar with The Exit 8, and in our 4/5 review, we called it “a chilling horror puzzle game” that was “more than worth the entrance fee.

The Cabin Factory looks set to build on that foundation with its own unique twist. We’ll find out for sure in full review.

Your Inspector’s Checklist

Here’s what you can expect from this new horror experience:

  • A Unique Walking “Spot-the-Difference” Horror Game.
  • Inspired by Liminal Spaces and Psychological Horror: Perfect for fans of The Exit 8 and POOLS.
  • A Compact Story: Experience the full narrative in one evening.
  • Atmospheric Horror: Step into an anomaly-hunting experience with realistic graphics and a chilling atmosphere.
  • Thirteen Supported Languages for full immersion.

The cabins are waiting, and the line between reality and the supernatural is blurring. If you’re a fan of psychological horror and unique puzzle mechanics, The Cabin Factory is ready for your inspection on the Xbox Store right now. Good luck, new inspector.

The Cabin Factory Description

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
