What goes up must come down – Deleveled launches on Xbox One

-

Deleveled

You know all about Newton’s third law of motion, yeah? Whenever two objects interact, they exert equal and opposite forces on each other. Well, keep that in mind when you go about playing Deleveled on Xbox One – because you’re going to need to utilise that law time and time again.

Created by Toasterfuel with publishing rights handled by those at The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild – they most recently behind the brilliant #Funtime and The Ambassador: Fractured Timelines, Deleveled is a mind-bending puzzler of the very highest degree, as you go about attempting to manipulate two cubes through some minimalist stages.

To do so though, you’ll have to trust the gravitational pull that is in place – as one block falls, the other jumps, and vice versa. It will only be by utilising this law of motion will any form of success by found, as you go about hitting switches and working with this pair of cubes.

120 unique levels spread over 10 worlds are in place, each of which comes with its own super creative solution, hidden secrets to hunt out and tempting bonuses to collect. Throw in a chiptune inspired soundtrack that is unique for each world, and that gloriously minimalistic and abstract visual style, and there is immediately much to love about Deleveled. And if you don’t believe me, believe our review – we don’t hand out 4.5/5 ratings to anything that doesn’t hit the mark.

“We love how many solutions exist in the Deleveled universe because it breeds creativity from something that might look like it’s prescriptive. We hope that it always hits those exact right notes of difficulty: tough but also tough to put down.” – Patrick Nance, Level Design and Audio

“We’ve been inspired by all the ways that indies have built on their core mechanics in their games, and I’ve always wanted to see what would happen if you took away the jump button from a player.” – Kyle Donnelly, Game Programmer

Features include:

  • Chiptune inspired soundtrack, with unique music for each world
  • Minimalist, abstract art style that comes to life as you play
  • Momentum based platforming keeps movement flowing through 120 levels
  • Change gravity, fall through walls, and rotate levels to find the most creative solution
  • Secrets and bonuses for the curious gravity-defying adventurer

Should you wish to get involved in Deleveled then you’ll find the Xbox Store more than willing to give up the goods. The asking price of £8.39 makes it super tempting.

Game Description:

Cooperate with Yourself What goes up must come down… and what comes down must be bounced! Send momentum from one block to another to shoot them around the map. Cleverly conserve momentum to navigate around the map and flick all the switches but be careful; once you’re down there’s no way back up; this platformer has no jump button. Each of over 120 levels features four pairs of switches, but which switch goes with which? Figure out which pairs need pressing and how to get there to solve each unique puzzle. Push the limits of gravity as you explore 10 worlds with their own unique mechanics, bonus levels, challenges, and secrets!
