Which of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold bargains should you pick up? – 21st–27th August 2018

-

With Gamescom upon us, it’s fair to say excitement for new titles is at an all time high, but whilst the new games being shown this week certainly look exciting, there’s no denying there are many enticing classics already available on Xbox One. Many of these are on offer this week for a reduced price courtesy of Xbox Live Deals With Gold as well as the franchise and publisher sales, so without further ado let’s take a look at this week’s deals on Xbox One and figure out which ones you should look to add to your library.

GrabAgents of Mayhem – Total Mayhem Bundle – 75% off – £6.00

If you’re a fan of the wacky outlandish adventures seen in the Saints Row series, then chances are you’ll have a blast with latest story to be set in the Saints universe – Agents of Mayhem. If you’ve yet to try this classic open-world adventure, then there’s no better time than now. For just £6 you can jump into one of 2017’s most explosive stories as the 12 Agents of Mayhem look to put a stop to the shadowy supervillain organisation L.E.G.I.O.N and prevent them from destroying the world’s nations.

With gameplay offering more classic Saints style action and plenty of weapons, abilities, cars and action to get lost in, Agents of Mayhem is certainly a game you don’t want to miss out on, and with the Total Mayhem Bundle also bringing players multiple skin and agent packs, including one that brings Saints Row favourite Johnny Gat into action, there is no excuse not to add this to your collection.

GrabInk – 70% off – £2.40

Do you like a challenge, do you like simplicity? If you fancy a colourful platformer that can offer both then Ink has just what you need, all for the price of your morning coffee.

In this colourful hardcore platformer players take on the role of a cube with the sole objective being to reach the white square at the end of the level. The catch however, you can’t see the path to the end of the level until you’ve painted it in the rainbow of different colours your white cube leaves behind after moving, and whilst you can’t see them until you’ve painted them, each of the 75 levels is full of deadly enemies, traps and hazards that can send you back to the start of the level in an instant after just one slight mistake.

With boss levels and collectibles hidden within, this may just be the best £2.40 you’ll ever spend, especially when you realise the addictive nature of the game as you almost reach the end for the 10th time in a row, only to be bested by an unexpected trap at the last second. Not yet convinced? Why not check out our review to see just why you need this fantastic bargain.

TempterInjustice 2 – Legendary Edition – 50% off – £29.99

It may not be the cheapest deal on the market right now, but with every piece of additional content included and a fantastic base game to start, this is certainly not an offer to be scoffed at. From the creators of Mortal Kombat X, Injustice 2 brings more of the classic fighting action fans have come to love from NetherRealm Studios as players battle it out with some of the most iconic characters from Superman to Batman and Hellboy to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

On top of those awesome matchups, players can even unlock loot to collect gear from which they can then customise each of the games unique characters to create the ultimate superhero or villain, and with limitless possibilities available from the 1000’s of different colours and gear items, the ultimate hero could be your own creation. If you’re craving a fighter and have yet to try this one out, don’t let that price tag stop you, and with the amount of content included, this is certainly one you’ll be enjoying for hours on end.

LeaveOutcast – Second Contact – 50% off – £18.00

It may have been a cult classic when it first arrived on PC in 1999, but the years haven’t been kind to this open-world action-adventure and even in its current remastered state, even halving the current asking price wouldn’t allow me to recommend this disappointing adventure to anyone looking for a good deal.

Throughout the game, players take on the role of Cutter Slade on the alien world of Adelpha. Unfortunately, anyone hoping for an exciting story, a beautiful alien world or even modern gameplay will be sorely disappointed. With combat proving unnecessarily difficult, gameplay proving repetitive and visuals painful to look at, it’s fair to say this isn’t a game that will be back in for Adventure Game of the Year this time around, and with countless other titles craving for our attention, there is many better ways to spend your money on Xbox One.

So, there we have it, another week of deals and a fine selection of titles to cast your eyes towards as well as one to leave well alone. Have you seen a deal this week that particularly catches your eye? Let us know in the comments below or via our usual social channels and as always don’t forget to head on over to CDkeys to nab some of that super cheap Xbox Live Credit in order to see that spending stretch that little bit further this week.
