This weeks Xbox Live Deals With Gold and Publisher sale is a little bit of a letdown. The quantity isn’t the best although some of the quality on offer is decent enough. But are the prices right? What should you buy and which should you leave well alone?

Well, due to the lack of numbers, the choices this week are fairly simple with the following hopefully helping you make a decision…

Grab – Alien Isolation – 60% off – £22.00 on Xbox One and £15.99 on Xbox 360

Alien Isolation really does do the name justice. After years of Alien titles flattering to deceive, it’s great that we’ve finally got a game that fans of the film should be happy with. Set 15 years after the events in the original film, you’ll be tasked with navigating your way through a volatile world that is haunted by the Alien.

It would have been nice to see it finally drop below £20 on Xbox One, but what’s a couple of quid between friends?

Go and grab it right now. Just be prepared for a few scares along the way!

Leave – Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Digital Pro – 33% off – £60.29 – Xbox One

Okay, so there is no doubting that Advanced Warfare is a decent game. In fact, it’s more than decent. But £60.29 for the Digital Pro edition is just not worth the cash. You may get the full game, the season pass and a load of customisation and personalisation additions, but seriously, if you haven’t yet got involved in the latest CoD then we’d hazard a guess that you’re not overly bothered about it.

At least not bothered enough to splash 60 notes on!

Grab – Modern Warfare – 50% off – £9.99 – Xbox 360

There aren’t many franchises that could command a £10 sale price after eight years, but Modern Warfare can quite easily get away with that. We can’t make any promises about the current state of the online community, but you’ll find a more than solid single player campaign included which should make up for the price.

We’d be surprised if we saw the digital version of Modern Warfare go much cheaper than this price any time soon.

So that’s about it for this week. The rest of the paltry number of deals on the table are neither here nor there, but you can check out the full list right here.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
