Halloween is fast approaching and the bargains in the Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale for 27th Oct – 2nd Nov 2015 have more than a hint of the ghosts, ghouls, scares and frights to them. But which are the best deals on offer and which should you be leaving well alone? Let us take a look.
Grab – Costume Quest 2 – £3.96/$4.95 – 67% off Xbox One and £3.95/$4.94 on Xbox 360
If there is one game that is wholly suited for this time of year then it’s Costume Quest 2.
Wren and Reynold are back, seemingly about to enjoy a new Halloween free of monsters and shenanigans, but not everything goes to plan and Costume Quest 2 turns into a bit of a quest in order to take down a crazed dental fanatic as the kids go about saving Halloween!
You’ll probably spend more than the £3.95 that Costume Quest 2 costs just in rubbish sweets for the big day. Maybe it’ll be better to spend it on your download instead, sticking on a pair of cans and ignoring the door when it knocks!
That’s what we’ll be doing.
Grab – Titanfall Deluxe Edition – £6.00/$5.00 – 75% off – Xbox One
Now here’s a shock. We normally find ourselves sitting here preaching the benefits of the EA Access scheme on Xbox One as for the price and the accessibility it brings, we rarely see any games drop to a price that warrants a single purchase over the Access scheme. Titanfall Deluxe Edition is kind of bucking that trend though, not only because it’s a bloody great game, but because for £6, if you don’t already own it, and don’t have an Access pass, then it’s a no brainer!
Leave – Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare – £11.55/$6.60 – 67% off – Xbox One
For everything regarding Titanfall above, Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare is the opposite.
Well okay, maybe not everything because the gameplay it brings is rather neat, great fun and can be something to while the hours away with. But for £11.55, Garden Warfare doesn’t represent a decent enough saving over the Access scheme, instead seeing the £20 price tag for EA finest more than tempting.
Do yourself a favour and spend a few quid more in order to get a ton more games for free.
Leave – Resident Evil – £11.99/$14.99 – 25% off – Xbox One and Xbox 360
Yep, we’re telling you to leave alone one of the biggest selling franchises of all time. Resident Evil on Xbox One and Xbox 360 will only really appeal to those fully ingrained into the Resi way of life and the £12 sale price that is currently on offer does nothing to convince us that it’s now worthy of a purchase.
Cut it by half the price again and we may just get interested. That still wouldn’t be a definite purchase though.

I picked up CQ2 last year (it is def a fun game which I highly recommend too). Despite the fact I’ll be playing Halo pretty much non-stop I got Slender The Arrival for $5. Hard to pass up anything at that price! Especially since I used Bing/XBL Rewards credits on it 🙂
