Looking at this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale could be rather overwhelming with the amount of titles getting a discount, but when you look a little closer, quantity isn’t everything. Allow us to express our thoughts on the deals in place between the 2nd and 8th February 2016, before you make a judgement on what games to purchase this week.
With plenty of EA titles dominating the sale, it’d be easy to ignore the little companies peddling their digital titles out, but in our eyes… this could be where the real bargains are!
Grab – Instant Indie Collection: Vol. 1 – 50% off – £8.80 – Xbox One
Working out at less than £3 per game, this three-piece puzzle collection developed by Curve Digital would have to be made up of some pretty awful titles to be ignored. So, it’s a good job that it features the simple but fascinating story of shapes making friends, ‘Thomas Was Alone’, the gadget filled and stealthy ‘Stealth Inc. 2’ and a mysterious story in space, ‘The Swapper’. All three games managed to grab four stars or more from us and so it’s a no brainer to pick this up.
It’s worth noting that The Swapper is available for an absolute steal on its own, priced at £2.40, for anyone whom already has the other two.
Grab – Instant Indie Collection: Vol. 2 – 50% off – £10.00 – Xbox One
Curve Digital are at it again with their second bundle in the sale, at another very good price that should be taken notice of. It’s just ten pounds for a collection of experiences which could take you well over 25 hours to get through. From a tricky sports title in ‘Pumped BMX +’ to an odd turn-based game, ‘Nova-111’, to a steampunk themed world of heists for ‘The Swindle’.
They didn’t all hit the mark as great games but they are certainly good enough to be checked out as it is still a bargain. The best of the bunch, ‘Pumped BMX +’, is actually on sale by itself for £4.00, if the price for all three is a little out of your budget.
Leave – Majority of the EA Titles – Xbox One
It isn’t the first time you’ve heard this from us and no doubt it won’t be the last, but if you’re seriously interested in the EA titles in the sale, check if they are in the EA Access scheme first or contemplate whether you can wait a short while for them to inevitably end up there. This could save you a fortune with the number of titles now available in the EA Vault such as Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Battlefield 4 and Battlefield: Hardline.
No doubt those that are in the sale, but not in the vault currently will be there shortly, so hang tight if possible. In other words, keep well away from those EA ‘bargains’!
As is very nearly always the case, you can find the full Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale right here. If you do fancy getting involved with one or two of them, then head over to CDKeys and pick yourself up some super cheap Xbox Live credit.
