You’re probably skint already, but just in case you can manage to scrap together a few coins, the Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale for 5th-11th Jan 2016 is ready to get you gaming once more. Which of the deals in place this week should be checked out? And which should be left well alone?
For a change, the entire Xbox Deals With Gold sale is pretty decent. There are none of the usual AAA games that still command stupid prices, instead dealing in bargains…which if we’re honest, are all we ever want to see.
You shouldn’t be turning your nose up at the 75% currently knocked off the normal price of Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. It may not have the hype and marketing behind it that the usual Lara adventures receive, but fans of the most famous videogame woman of all time should be flocking to discover the Temple of Osiris at just a few quid in price. Just make sure you check it out with friends as the online matchmaking system is a little eager to help destroy the whole experience.
You may eventually find it cheaper, but we’d suspect that will be some way off yet.
Grab – Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light – 75% off – £2.49
As above really, but this time for Xbox 360 owners. If you need a new Lara fix and fancy something a little different to the norm, go grab Guardian of Light for a stupidly cheap price! It’s a decent little playthrough, especially if you can persuade a few friends to join you on your adventures.
Leave – The Deer God – 33% off – £8.03
Not only is The Deer God coming in with the smallest discount of the week, but it was free to download just a couple of months ago. The £8 price in itself certainly isn’t the issue, but the timing of the sale, and indeed the company that it keeps means that The Deer God should be the one game from this weeks discount list which you should be leaving alone.
There are times when you don’t want to be pushed too much with a game. Whispering Willows allows you to sit back, kick up your feet and just plough through a unique horror themed puzzler. A reasonably short game, you’ll have no issues in getting it completed in just a few hours, with a ton of easy achievements popping up along the way.
50% is a big enough discount for those who were previously sitting on the fence to jump off and get over to the Xbox One Games Store with their wallet.
