You’re probably well versed in the art of survival, after-all, there are a ton of survival sims available across the gaming market. But that doesn’t mean there’s not room for another. The question is, can you brave the new world found in Stranded: Alien Dawn?
From Frontier Foundry and Haemimont Games, they behind the hit Surviving Mars, is Stranded: Alien Dawn. This is a new survival sim, attempting new ideas and elements as players are left to get to grips with the world around them in hope of, well, surviving.
It’s available on PC and console – with those consoles being Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 – for the price of £29.99. Having previously spent time in PC Early Access, this one arriving in full Version 1.0 form with a ton of major updates, a new region, plenty of content challenges and more all present.
Whatever, it’s the survivors who are key to Stranded: Alien Dawn – in fact, they are the heart of the tale, with each bringing their own unique skills to the party, various traits and backstories. It’ll ensure that the group dynamic stays fresh as you play, but in turn it means you’ll need to be on guard, ensuring they work well together when taken to the brink.
Do so and you’ll find that the survivors will fast turn their desolate crash site into a thriving home base, but they’ll need to salvage and craft their way from a basic shelter to a high-tech fortress with automated defences. Whether crash-landing on the lush mountains of Sobrius or the dry canyons of Desertum, each region offers an array of vibrant flora and fauna, along with natural resources which can be researched and exploited to ensure the group can flourish in their unforgiving new surroundings.
