You may have heard of Will You Snail, if only as the creation of this game has been fully documented on Youtube by the developer. Well, now comes the confirmation that the game will launch on PC and console, with a simultaneous launch across multiple platforms.
Coming from the No Gravity Games publishing team (they previously behind Alder’s Blood), after being created by the solo developer and Youtuber, Jonas Tyroller, Will You Snail will launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam.
It’s a fast-action platformer where an evil AI tries to kill you by predicting your movement but Will You Snail takes that simple premise and builds on it as you look to dodge AI-spawned traps, solve optional puzzles, and uncover the dark secrets of the simulation.
A game that will bring cocky voice lines, plenty of combat, tons of puzzles, snails (obvs) and unicorns (not quite so obvs), Will You Snail will focus on a story about artificial intelligence and a dark secret to uncover. it’s this evil AI Squid which will try to predict your movement, all a few seconds ahead of time, using that information in an attempt to stop you from reaching the end of the level. The question is, will you win that intellectual battle or will Squid find yet another reason to make fun of you?
The challenge comes from your interactions with the evil AI and thankfully Will You Snail will allow the opportunity to change the difficulty at any time or let the game decide which one is the best one for you. From there it’ll be a case of solving some easy puzzles to calm down from the action, taking in more difficult ones when you fancy it. Neatly, every single puzzle in Will You Snail is completely optional and can be skipped if you want to.
There will also be secrets to find, clues to collect and a narrative to piece together. Will You Snail tells a rather crazy story about artificial intelligence, simulation theory and the future of humanity.
The key features of Will You Snail include:
- Innovative Gameplay – AI Squid will try to kill you in many ways depending on your playstyle.
- Clever Puzzles and mechanics designed to make your brain work at full-speed
- Changing Environment – Dodge the AI spawned traps – Squid will find a way to make your escape harder.
- Captivating Story – Literally! Uncover the truth about AI, Simulation Theory, and the future of humanity.
- Difficulty adjustment – If you feel like it’s too hard for you, you can lower the difficulty. Or maybe you thrive for a challenge?
Whilst the exact release date of Will You Snail is still to be determined, you can be sure that it’ll release simultaneously on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC through Steam.
